00:00For decades, the Malay community has been struggled by many political leaders with their own approach to how it should be achieved.
00:11As well as former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and veteran UMNO figure Tengku Razali Hamzah.
00:17After a successful interview with FMT, it is clear that for Mahathir, Matlamat is halal, while the opposite is true for Razali.
00:26Platform is not important for Mahathir compared to his struggle.
00:29His approach to uniting Malay people remains consistent.
00:33Whether he is in UMNO, united, a fighter or a movement of land, united or at risk of being weak in terms of politics and economy.
00:43But Razali is also known as a believer that UMNO unites Malay people.
00:50No, I will fight. I will continue fighting with UMNO.
00:54Not just ditch UMNO and leave the party and go on my own. I don't think that is right.
01:02However, Mahathir said that Malay people are now divided due to the isolated parties that were formed during the time of Abdullah Ahmad Padawi and Najib Razak.
01:13If you are loyal only to the party, then the Malays will be free. They will lose their action.
01:21Go back to the UMNO struggle. UMNO struggle was for Malays, nation and religion.
01:31So, if they go back to and they do not tie themselves to their own parties, then they can come together.
01:42Although Razali is still loyal to UMNO, his loyalty to the party has never wavered,
01:48except when he formed Semangat 46 in the 1980s after a great meeting with Mahathir, which got widespread coverage.
01:57However, Razali later dissolved the isolated party and rejoined UMNO in 1996.
02:05Whether you like it or not, UMNO was born at the right time and it helps provide the answers for the Malays who are really left on their own.
02:22And the Malays were brought together and became a nation of themselves.
02:28Before they were just a parochial grouping of Kelantanese, Johorians, Selangorians, Penang people.
