00:04McFarlane toys digital DC rebirth Batman
00:30a playboy billionaire by day Bruce Wayne's double life affords him the
00:37comfort of a life without the financial worry a loyal butler turned guardian and
00:40the perfect base of operations in the ancient network of caves beneath the
00:43family sprawling estate by night however he sheds all pretense dons the iconic
00:48scalped cape and pointed cowl and takes to the shadowy streets skies and
00:52rooftops of Gotham City while DC is looking to course-correct the present
00:56Bruce Wayne still hopes he could have changed the past just before we get a
00:59closer look though at the digital exclusive DC rebirth Batman let's grab
01:04the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands of all things where I
01:06found this figure was actually at Walmart a local Walmart started to stock
01:11now new DC multiverse figures and Batman was one of them I had to grab him right
01:15away the figure though is gonna be using what seems to be the same mold as the
01:19original DC rebirth Batman unfortunately I don't have that figure at the moment I
01:22could bring him for comparisons but the figures though is gonna both stand the
01:26same still he's gonna be about seven inches in height or DC rebirth Batman is
01:3018 centimeters tall one of the last places I was expecting even just to see
01:35this figure was at my local Walmart going down the aisle and just expecting
01:38disappointment happened just to look over and they stocked out a brand new
01:42selection of new DC multiverse figures including though the McFarland toys
01:46digital DC rebirth Batman this is gonna be though using the original DC rebirth
01:51Batman I don't think they've done anything different I would have been
01:53able to bring in the original DC rebirth Batman his whereabouts though
01:57remain unknown it does though look like his head sculpt is slightly different
02:01than the one we did get from before I certainly would encourage you guys if
02:04you get the chance obviously go and check out my early review of the black
02:08cowl version of DC River just to see what that figure looks like I will at
02:12least bring in somewhat of a serviceable stand-in one of the best Batman's around
02:15here's what the figure it looks like also a blue cowl release the DC rebirth
02:19not the DC nightfall Batman which again is sharing somewhat of a similar color
02:24scheme emblems though on the front are a little bit different obviously the head
02:27sculpt a little bit different also as well but they're also again gray and
02:30blue cowl Batman figures here's also as well what the figure looks like with a
02:34recently looked at DC multiverse classic penguin just to kind of give you guys a
02:38scale size there as well one of the really cool things about the digital DC
02:42rebirth Batman while using maybe the same mold sure it does at least come
02:46with an unmasked Bruce Wayne head sculpt which of course will then be swapped out
02:50with the one that we are looking at right now we'll get to that more in a
02:52moment the figure though first of all comes included with a trading card the
02:55trading card has some exquisite artwork there featured on the front Batman of
02:58course now with the emblem outlined in yellow which I never was a big fan of
03:02before but it has started to grow on me down below of course we got ourselves
03:06Batman if we don't flip around to the back of the card the real name as if you
03:10already didn't know this already is Bruce Wayne obviously there is also a
03:12paragraph read you can pause you can read you can digest it yourself but like
03:17mama bear I've already digested the worm for you and I read this at the beginning
03:22of the review that's disgusting let's move that figure also as well comes
03:26include I know there's another card there figure also comes included as well
03:29with a digital version of the regular black display stand so what's done
03:33differently is obviously now we've got the DC well we got McFarlane toys logo
03:36down below outlined I guess would that be a pentagon no one two three four six
03:41hexagon hexagon with McFarlane toys digital next to that just above that
03:46though there's also as well the peg that can plug into either one of his feet the
03:50figure also comes included as well if I just move everything out of the way also
03:53with a digital card an authentic authentication code where the
03:58instructions are you can go to www.mtd.gg to download the McFarlane toys
04:03digital viewer app for your Mac or PC scratch the above which I will be doing
04:07in a second to reveal your one-time use code and create your account and login
04:11and then you can go redeem the code to the panel on the screen and follow the
04:15instructions for the pop-up window as I have no real plan to be using this for
04:20myself and on the back by the way it does I guess this would be the front
04:22that would be the back on the front it does have still the same outlined logo
04:26and hexagon hexagonal shape of course you got McFarlane toys digital down
04:30below let's go ahead I was going to use the batarang but I want to get crud all
04:34over it so what I'll do instead is I've got my little nail clippers here that I
04:37generally use for cutting of course the little twist ties that are on these
04:41figures I'm going to scratch this away and what you guys can do if you'd like
04:46that is is that you can use the code that's provided that I've now just
04:49revealed and you can use it for your one-time code if you do end up using
04:54this code let me know down below in the comment section I'll give you a virtual
04:56star there you go that's for you I'm digesting it again like the mama bear
05:02or the mama bird chewing up that worm for you there you go okay we'll move
05:06that off to the side the figure also comes includes some swappable hands now
05:10he has out of packaging a closed fist hand and then he has a gestured dynamic
05:15hand if you prefer though punching hands on both sides then Batman does come
05:19included two of those it would obviously just be the mirror flip to the one that
05:22you're looking at on this side just flipped around to the other side and the
05:25figure also comes included with a gripping hand the gripping hand is
05:27really most required obviously because he also comes included a couple of
05:31accessories don't lose this whatever you do if you lose that boy you're you're
05:34out of luck I now probably jinxed myself by saying that the only thing
05:39about the hands though and I noticed this more though with the closed fist is
05:42that they do come across really small it seems even more apparent when you
05:46attach them on to his forms for example because he has the gauntlets now also
05:50sculpted on his forms it kind of even makes more the illusion that the hands
05:53are even smaller but I don't maybe think it's the case it just seems like maybe
05:58they're using really really small hands for this particular figure taking out
06:01the hands by the way I just finished talking about that so he's got the very
06:04large gauntlet doesn't make him just by virtue of that make his hands look a lot
06:08that much smaller what we're gonna do though is we're just gonna remove the
06:11hand divorce it completely from the peg we're just gonna pop then in the new
06:14hand there we go there we go and I would say one thing at least with these
06:19gripping hands this one only gripping hand we get with the figure if I get it
06:22all the way on there it does make it proportionally a little bit bigger just
06:26because the fingers are like extended obviously it just makes it look like his
06:29hand isn't as tiny that hand by the way we'll be doing a lot of work because the
06:33figure has only two accessories but he only has one gripping hand these have
06:37been painted or more so maybe they've been molded now they probably have been
06:41painted here in gold I don't know what the original color would have been
06:44because everything is wrapped up so nicely like a chocolate it's a little
06:48off-putting the fact we get ourselves like a gold like battering we got
06:51ourselves also a gold utility a gold grapple gun it just doesn't seem like
06:55something Batman would carry around with him I would always just tend to think of
06:58gray dark gray blue black probably would be the go-to gold just seems a
07:03little out of place but I know obviously with a figure like this being that it's
07:07a digital bunny ears bunny ears digital exclusive I know obviously they just
07:11want to also jazz up some of the accessories as well the grapple hook by
07:14the way is very soft and plastic you can't remove it don't try to rip it off
07:18whatever you do but what you will do at least is that you can take this and you
07:21fit it into Batman's hands the hands themselves or at least the handle for
07:25that matter is pretty thick so you really have to kind of dowel it to get
07:28it in there but Batman does hold it fairly well and it also start the review
07:32with him holding the batarang and it works basically the way it same way but
07:35again like very thick accessories the other thing that Batman comes included
07:39with and perhaps some could say the selling point of this particular figure
07:43if I just move everything else out of the way that out of the way as well is
07:46that he also comes in clue with an alternate Bruce Wayne head portrait no
07:50no that's not what we're looking at right now this is basically a cowl the
07:54version of Batman that does look very good I feel though looking at this that
07:58it isn't the same head sculpt and you can let me know down below again I would
08:01have loved to have been able to find the DC Rebirth Batman it's always the case
08:05and then when I'll be cleaning up probably weeks from now I'll just happen
08:08to come across it but at the time of course of wanting doing the review I
08:11couldn't find where it where it ended up going everything else it seems to be the
08:15case is the same one as we got from the original black Calverley's but it does
08:18seem like I don't know maybe it's just maybe it's just me it looks like the
08:21head is a little bit different it's painted really well though it's got the
08:24white eyes there he seems to have a little bit of a scowl on his face and
08:28you can see there's some nice outlining on the side it does very much have that
08:32kind of Jim Lee design to it very very cool now again the good thing about this
08:37figure is that he also comes in clue with an alternate head sculpt and I
08:41think it does a fairly serviceable enough job of giving us a Bruce Wayne
08:44head portrait if you did want to change out the head it's just a case popping
08:48the head off the provided post and look how long this post is by the way it's
08:51like a big little one of those little giant tiny joysticks if you get ever
08:54those quarter arcades but what you're gonna do is you're gonna take the Bruce
08:57Wayne head pop it on top the ball joint I find some a little bit of force is
09:02required to pop that in place sometimes it even helps just to put your hand on
09:05top just force it down and that's basically what it would look like with
09:08the alternate head sculpt pretty good pretty good indeed the thing always
09:13about this though is unless I decide to pick up a second one of these I think
09:16both head sculpts don't make me feel like I wish the other one was in place
09:20like say if I had this one in place I don't think to myself well I'm doing the
09:24better job of having this head on the shoulders because I don't like this head
09:27sculpt I think this head sculpt looks pretty good as well I don't really have
09:32a lot of Bruce Wayne or uncouled Bruce Wayne head sculpts I might just end up
09:36displaying the figure with this but although you know I feel then bad
09:39putting this away in the tray or put it back back in the bag for example I'm
09:43torn I might just probably just go back to this one anyways but for at least
09:46right now you can see like this one does have some decent sculpting for the hair
09:50as well as his face he has at least for me a little bit of an animated series
09:54vibe to it I think they've sculpted a decent job on it but there's no cowl
09:59flip down for example tends not to be something we get a lot with DC they
10:02would do certainly a lot a lot of that with like the Marvel figures where like
10:05if you had a Wolverine for example he'd fold back the collar piece the cowl
10:09piece and it would just be sitting on the back it's only one thing I really
10:12wish that this figure could have also had because obviously unless Batman is
10:15taking off like say like you would just have like a helmet piece for example you
10:20could justify it that way but with Batman usually having a cloth cowl you
10:24would think that he would fold this back and it would be sitting somewhere back
10:27here it would have been fun if they could have also included a folded back
10:31cowl piece basically would just sat over top the neck and then we just put Bruce
10:34Wayne's head over top of that as for the rest of the figures body now using again
10:39still that DC rebirth body so you've got now the raised emblem there on the front
10:42I've really liked the way that this works with the the outlining there in
10:45yellow never used to like it but I like it a little bit more the more times that
10:49I've seen it he also has slightly more of a streamlined utility belt it looks
10:55like he would hold basically nothing but just capsules I don't even know
10:58whereabouts he would actually store like I don't know like batarangs bat shields
11:02would be out of the question there'd be no place sorry Adam that there'd be no
11:05place to store a shield for example on this tiny little capsules maybe some
11:09some things that would have to fold in fold in fold in it basically be like
11:13folding in paper which I think when you fold paper you can't get more than full
11:16is it 8 folds or 11 folds when you fold a paper in on itself basically you know
11:22you reduce its size by half I think it's like eight of them anyways what was the
11:25point I was really talking about is the fact that I just doesn't feel like you
11:28could be able to store really much of anything in here other than gas capsules
11:31but it's a pretty cool looking utility belt the majority of his outfit does
11:35have a little bit of armor to it but it's not too busy that it looks like I
11:38don't really like SWAT looking Batman suits I like the idea of more so that
11:42what Bruce Wayne's walking around more just in a fabric outfit and it's just
11:46his wits that keeps him alive but there's a little bit of panel lining
11:49there there's not too much that keep to make the figure too busy you got
11:53something there on the side you've also got some additional sculpting they put
11:55on the front and there's also a few little areas there one of the notable
11:58things though also about the rebirth body is that is tiny little bat emblems
12:02for kneecaps I think that's kind of fun especially if you wanted to need
12:05somebody in the face if he had the knee low enough down you probably could I
12:08don't know that probably poke some ways in in the eyes if they weren't too
12:11careful some decent sculpting on the boots the boots are about the only thing
12:14that's between that and the gauntlets about the only really thing that's busy
12:17on the figure of course he does have a nice decently sculpted cape as well this
12:21is all plastic so they're not using yet a fabric cape for this particular body
12:24of Batman you never know down the road they may do that though a nice cape
12:27though overall now for the figures articulation going back to the head
12:31sculpt first of all the heads gonna be on ball joint so it rotates all the way
12:33around the head looks up the head looks down and actually looking down it looks
12:37really good you might just try to find a way to kind of get the cow if you get
12:41that a little bit closer to his body like this no he'd be on any bit the
12:44wiser there's actually a Batman face or eyes for that matter you could kind of
12:47just have like for example like if you just bend the elbow like this you can
12:51have like Batman kind of holding the cow I personally always really like again
12:55like the idea of a cloth cow rather than something he would actually just take off
12:58as a helmet just kind of loses the illusion for me that I like the idea
13:01that the cow and the cape are one piece you like that too let me know down below
13:06figure though it does have an upper torso ball joint he also has a lower
13:11torso abdomen ball joint shoulders easily come out because there's no
13:14restrictions at all with the cape even though the cape does have a little bit
13:17of fold over on the shoulders not to the point where it feels like the arms are
13:21restricted there might be a little bit more restricted granted if you try to
13:24rotate the arms all the way around though he has a swivel there on the
13:26bicep the figure also possess a double hinge on the elbow and the hand to
13:30rotate all the way around I feel though I don't have the hands all the way on
13:32their peg especially with this being the only hand to accommodate any bit of
13:36holding I really would hate to have the hand falling off legs do split up the
13:40only downside unfortunately to this is probably something you've already seen
13:43is that the leg sticks pretty high up and he's got very small trunks who wants
13:48to tell him very small trunks the thing about unfortunately though is with this
13:52being softer plastic anytime you try to move the leg out and it's more so on
13:56this side on mine than it is on this side you can kind of see like this leg
14:00always ends up fighting with the trunks I might just have to I mean you can
14:05obviously just go in there with like a you know a little small I don't say like
14:08a knife but like a little small screwdriver not to cause damage to the
14:11plastic I may just want to lift that over a little bit maybe soften it a
14:14little bit in like with with a hairdryer and just kind of pull that out just a
14:18bit and tuck the leg a little bit more in there because unfortunately on mine
14:21at least you can see like it just keeps continuing to crimp the plastic anyways
14:25the legs move forward they move back they move out even more damage being
14:29done there so swivel there on the top of the thigh there is also a double hinge
14:32on the knee there is no articulation here because this is one continued
14:36ankle pivot back and forth ankle rocker back and forth and the figure again does
14:41have some toe articulation as well ultimately though I don't know if I'm
14:45gonna take a trip back to Walmart I mean first of all I do want to take a trip
14:48back now to see that they're actually now finally finally Canada's catching up
14:51stocking stuff when it comes to DC multiverse and actually new stuff too
14:55I'm leaving a space also here so I can bring in this version of Batman which
14:59for still the longest while is my go-to Batman you know the rebirth though I
15:04like the colors on this one not to say I didn't like the colors of the black
15:07helmet black cape before but I gotta say like the blue works pretty good with
15:11this particular mold the selling point obviously for this may not necessarily
15:14be the fact that you get yourself a foil wrapped chocolate battering or a grapple
15:19gun it might be more for the fact that this figure also comes include the
15:22Bruce Wayne head portrait the hardest thing though about this is giving up
15:25this head sculpt because I actually like this one how this one turned out as well
15:28but we get very few times that we ever get ourselves actually a Bruce Wayne
15:32alternate head portrait I might just find myself for at least right now
15:35displaying the figure with that instead if I could ask everybody just to revert
15:39their eyes from the man who's got the severed bat head in his hand somewhat of
15:43a believable look until you start to spin the figure around oh like our own
15:46rotisserie like this we can kind of clearly see that Batman's face is still
15:50showing on that cowl piece the only way around that other than just doing it
15:54what I'm doing right now is to have the figure if he had been packed for example
15:57which is an unfaced cowl piece but I know that's also asking a lot of the
16:01company to include all this extra molding of plastic the fact that we do
16:05finally get ourselves a Bruce Wayne head sculpt with one of our Batman figures
16:08which I'm trying to think of it right now have we ever really gotten ourselves
16:11a DC multiverse from Todd's team that actually did have ourselves a Bruce
16:16Wayne head I can't think of one right now it will come to me if there one is
16:19if there is one that exists like I'm just gonna be displaying the figure I
16:23feel with the Bruce Wayne head for right now it can't I feel like I in good faith
16:27I feel like I can't just put that Bruce Wayne head back in a bag first of all
16:30it's gonna look a little off-putting but also as well like just the fact that
16:33we do finally get this head I did also try to use this head with other Batman
16:38bodies the thing about it though is it has to use this size of proportions I
16:41think it would work well with the nightfall Batman the problem with that
16:44though is that I couldn't get the head off I heated it with a hairdryer I tried
16:48to pull I tried to pry but the fact that that's my favorite Batman from what
16:52we've gotten from McFarlane toys I didn't want to risk it all to yank that
16:56and break the peg so I just left it as is but I think if with a little bit of
17:00persuasion you probably could get that other head off and maybe even use this
17:04bat Bruce Wayne head for another Batman body the head sculpt though is looking
17:08good as well as certainly it could be said for the rest of the figures body as
17:11well I mean they're obviously you could nitpick some of this that the colors of
17:14the blue I think aren't as grayish blue and that they would be perceived
17:18obviously in the DC Rebirth comic pages but I think the blue works well with the
17:22gray I do like also the emblem on this Batman body it's not my if I was to
17:26think of it the emblem always will be one that I like one with an oval or like
17:30just a regular black bat but having it outlined in yellow is not really one
17:34thing one thing I really liked in the beginning but this particular Batman
17:38suit has now started to grow on me and this particular figure has done a really
17:42nice job as well it also comes in clue with of course a couple of other
17:45accessories he doesn't only unfortunately only has really one hand
17:49to hold all those accessories so you have to really choose either use the
17:52Batarang either use the grapple gun or use the hand for any for just holding a
17:57head like I'm doing right now either way I'm glad to see that I actually found
18:00this guy in the wild it's one of the few times I could actually even say that
18:04most of the time what I always usually say at the end of these videos is that I
18:07always have to go online because here in Canada distribution isn't the greatest
18:11let me now correct myself saying that distribution has gotten just a little
18:15bit better at least McFarlane toys that is has now started to stock a lot more
18:19things in our Canadian stores so it was lucky to actually find this one on on
18:24the store pegs have you guys had the chance to pick up this one for yourself

18:29it obviously we were looking today at the McFarlane toys digital Batman from
18:33DC Rebirth now in a blue cowl and blue cape minus of course the fabric cowl on
18:39the back of his body that's also one thing I really wish the figure could
18:42have had but overall I'm pretty happy with getting this one and actually
18:45finding this in the wild what do you guys think this let me know down below
