00:00thousands of families across the United States of America, with the stroke of a pen, not just
00:06bringing fairness and justice, but hope and opportunity to men, women, children, long-term
00:15residents of the United States who happen to be undocumented, but a child of or a spouse of a
00:22United States citizen. Having lived here in the United States for more than 10 years,
00:29working, paying taxes, excelling in school, bottom line, building a life. This is hope,
00:37and as of today, a pathway to no longer live in the shadows, no longer live in fear of deportation,
00:45but to be able to be on that pathway for legal protections and potential eventual citizenship.
00:54It is an exciting, exciting day for all of us, and I believe just not only in the morally right
01:02thing to do for these children and these families, but it is truly in the best interest of the United
01:09States of America. So we stand together in applauding President Biden for his actions
01:15today, and looking forward to working with him to bring about similar solutions and similar
01:21pathways to other undocumented communities in the weeks and months ahead. With that,
01:27let me turn it over to the Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus,
01:31Congresswoman from Los Angeles, Nanette Barragan.
