00:22Susan will hold here in Rizal Park in Manila one of the biggest celebrations of independence day.

00:34It is expected that President Bongbong Arcos will bring officials and government employees, different groups of people and youth

00:44to unite in celebrating the 126th anniversary of our independence.

00:55At 8 in the morning, the flag raising and wreath-laying ceremony began

00:59at the Bantayog of Dr. Jose Rizal.

01:03There are booths prepared by different government agencies for those who will visit and celebrate here in Luneta.

01:09There is a job fair, those who will give free check-ups and medicines, and many more.

01:14It is expected that the President will also bring people to the Independence Day parade at the Quirino Grandstand later at 5 in the afternoon.

01:21On the 126th anniversary of the independence of the Philippines,

01:25we asked some of our countrymen what is the importance of celebrating this occasion.

01:30For me, it is important for us to celebrate independence

01:35so that we can see the good deeds of our ancestors.

01:42I believe that if we are not free, our lives will be more difficult.

01:47If we are not free, we will not be able to stand on our own feet.

01:53We can only rely on the colonials who are serving our country.

01:59We should value this freedom because this is where we have our own opinions as a country.

02:15To give way to the expected influx of people here in Rizal Park,

02:19at 6 in the morning, Rojas Boulevard was closed to vehicles from Calau to P. Burgos.

02:26Those roads will not be able to pass until 10 in the morning.

02:30Some parts of Rojas Boulevard, Calau, P. Burgos Avenue, and Bonifacio Drive

02:35will be closed from 1 in the afternoon until 10 in the evening.

02:39Meanwhile, we have some countrymen who took the opportunity to earn money.
