What would you do with an extra £5000?

With figures showing households are roughly £5000 worse off, we ask people in Cardiff what they would do with the cash we’ve lost over the years.

00:00 Price of food, commodities, it's just gone up.

00:04 So £5,000, that would be maybe a luxury holiday for us,

00:08 like maybe 10, 15 years ago.

00:10 You wouldn't necessarily get that now.

00:12 You'd have to maybe shop around a little bit.

00:16 But yeah, everything's just gone up.

00:18 I think it would make a difference, definitely.

00:23 Bills are going up.

00:24 Energy costs are ridiculous.

00:26 We're students and we're looking at bills for next year.

00:31 And even, it's just so much to take in.

00:35 Oh God, £5,000.

00:36 Well, I mean, aside from bills,

00:39 you know, all the bills have been going up.

00:41 Food, mortgage, we're lucky we're on a fixed mortgage,

00:45 but that's due to go up soon.

00:47 So the for and as would probably be pay off bills

00:51 or save it towards paying off some bills.

00:55 My wife might say, "Go on, follow me."

00:57 So, probably she'd win.
