00:00X Defiant is filled with all manners of different modes, characters, gear, and mechanics.
00:08To help shed some light on each of those, we're here to share some tips and tricks
00:11for those new or returning to X Defiant.
00:18Ammo is pretty important when you're constantly finding yourself in the middle of a firefight.
00:22Even if you're playing carefully, it's possible you might find your ammo reserves
00:25looking rather low after a while.
00:27On Escort, this can especially be the case as you look to pierce the defenses of the
00:31defending team and advance the objective forward.
00:34But did you know that Carlos, your friendly neighborhood robo-dog and objective, can reload
00:39your weapons?
00:40You see, playing the objective allows you to not only win, but also means that you can
00:43keep your ammo reserves topped off as often as possible.
00:47Be careful though, as this works both ways.
00:49Defending teams in possession of Carlos can also use them to stock up and halt your advance.
00:56There's a lot to keep track of during a game, and the Spiderbot is frustration that's
01:00topped many a player's list.
01:02This ability from DeadSec launches a robot that latches onto the first foe it finds and
01:06stuns them long enough for their owner to follow up and put you down.
01:10While the ideal way to deal with them would be to spot them in advance and destroy them,
01:14did you know that you can melee them off as they jump onto you?
01:17Even seasoned X Defiant players would be forgiven for not knowing this one, as it's not the
01:20first reaction you might have upon encountering one.
01:23By mastering this technique, you can ensure you save ammo and stay intact to counter the
01:28enemy offensive.
01:30Before you hop into the game, we'd recommend taking a look at your settings.
01:33There are a lot of customization options available to you in there, but one thing we'd recommend
01:37in particular is looking over your keybindings.
01:40While you can slide, use devices, and crouch using the keyboard, we found it incredibly
01:45useful to rebind these keys to our mice.
01:48Repositioning those actions onto your mouse can make those actions much more accessible,
01:52while your keyboard fingers can remain on your movement keys.
01:56You've certainly heard the phrase, dress for the occasion, right?
01:59Well, custom loadouts are a way to create an outfit for every occasion.
02:03If you favor a particular faction, it will benefit you to take some time to play with
02:07your weapon loadouts.
02:08Tweaking your weapon stats can turn your Echelon Operator into a fast rapid-fire flanker, or
02:13your Phantom into an unflinching ammo-dumping machine.
02:17It might also be helpful to create loadouts for certain game modes as well.
02:21Creating a sniper build might prove useful for holding off the enemy advance on the open
02:25sight lines of an escort map, while a rapid-fire SMG could serve you well during a faster-paced
02:30game of Occupy.
02:32As you run around the maps of Exafiant for the first time, you might notice yellow tarps
02:36over the sides of various walls and objects.
02:39They aren't just there for show, and are meant to help you navigate the map.
02:43These yellow tarps mean that the object or ledge in front of you can be mantled over
02:47or climbed.
02:48Keeping your eyes out for them will allow you to reposition yourself to find new angles
02:52or different ways onto the objective that your foes might not be expecting.
02:56That's all the tips we had to share today.
02:58So did you find these helpful, or do you have some tips and tricks of your own you'd
03:02like to share?
03:03Put them in the comments below for others, and maybe you might see your tip or trick
03:06in a future video.
03:08Good luck out there, and we'll see you in-game.
