00:00 Yes, I mean there are many myths and misconceptions about surrounding obesity and overweight.
00:12 But I think one of the biggest myths is that it's your own fault that you are fat or overweight
00:17 and that obesity and overweight is due to having a bad character and you are lazy.
00:25 That if you just tightened up you would be able to eat less, exercise more, lose weight
00:30 easily.
00:31 But that is totally wrong, you know.
00:33 We know that obesity and morbid obesity are chronic diseases and we have now understood
00:38 that this disease is due to the brain's diet and hunger centres not being governed in the
00:44 normal way in patients living with obesity.
00:47 How do weight loss treatments like injections work and what sets Jason apart from other
00:52 methods?
00:53 I mean there are many new modern drugs but some of the more modern drugs like semaglutide
01:04 and tirosapatide, they are given once a week in injections, in injection pens and they
01:12 are quite easy to give and the patients manage them themselves.
01:19 So they take injections once a week and often due to, sometimes you have side effects, gastrointestinal
01:30 side effects, a little nausea, a little obstipation, a little heartburn and so on.
01:37 So you increase the dose quite slow actually.
01:43 So and then the body adapts to that so often the side effects, they disappear after a month
01:53 or so.
01:54 So very few people actually stop the medication.
