Supermarket Sweep (S1, Ep 57 - Nov 23rd 1993)

Today's contestants are Joan & Graham from Surrey, Julie & Lloyd from Birmingham, and Lorraine & Robin from Bristol. The shoe fits for one contestant in the Mini Sweep, but Dale finds himself tripped up with one contestant with 6 kids when he makes an embarrassing faux pas. He has an easier time with the married couples, one of whom is a policeman who wants to host Masterchef, but gets a giggle in the "Proverbs" quiz round with the clue "Go to be with the..." from one contestant. Point scoring is slow going but eventually two teams post decent scores, leaving the third playing catch up heading into the Super Sweep. But anything can happen there and an incident among the Smash Hits CDs proves prophetic and could prove crucial in the Super Sweep. So who will go through to play for the big cash prize? The cash totals prove very close indeed...
