00:04:21 Hold it, it's critical for Mary.
00:04:22 Don't break the link, don't break it.

00:05:50 Maybe I've got no imagination.
00:05:54 But your story is a little tough to swallow.
00:05:58 James McLuhan.
00:06:03 Busted twice for peddling and possession.
00:06:07 - That's right, so?
00:06:10 - And you expect me to believe that Mary Woodhouse
00:06:15 died out of sheer fright while you were having a seance?
00:06:19 - Mm-hmm.
00:06:22 - Okay, fellas, you help us, we'll help you.
00:06:26 What were you on?
00:06:29 Coke?
00:06:31 Grass?
00:06:32 Where's the stash down the toilet?
00:06:34 - You don't deserve any help.
00:06:35 You're a comic book version, Sergeant.
00:06:37 - Well, look better in your mug shot, you know.
00:06:41 The great Teresa, the master medium.
00:06:45 Yeah, for you it's all in the book of a,
00:06:49 your book of, what's it again?
00:06:52 - Enoch.
00:06:53 - Yeah, Enoch.
00:06:54 According to you, this poor girl is dead
00:06:58 because of a book that was written
00:07:00 4,000 years ago, correct?
00:07:03 - That's right.
00:07:04 I would find such an unusual paradox of tremendous appeal
00:07:07 terribly stimulating if I were a sleuth.
00:07:11 - Mm.
00:07:13 - The explanation in every detail of a crime
00:07:16 before it's been committed.
00:07:19 - Lady, you're either on grass or you're pulling my leg.
00:07:23 - No, the problem is in your mind.
00:07:26 It can't accept the truth.
00:07:28 But I'll help you just the same.
00:07:32 In the book of Enoch, the killer is--
00:07:34 - Jeeves, Sergeant, come here and look!
00:07:36 (thunder rumbling)
00:07:44 (dramatic music)
00:07:47 - Who's playing games here?
00:08:13 - Come out of the floor, out of nowhere.
00:08:16 - Who lived downstairs?
00:08:20 - It's vacant.
00:08:22 Has been for 26 years.
00:08:24 - But how the heck did--
00:08:25 - Don't you start acting up too.
00:08:28 It's only a prank, and I'll find out what's behind it
00:08:30 even if I have to tear the whole building apart.
00:08:33 - Keep refusing the truth.
00:08:36 At this very precise moment,
00:08:39 in some other distant town,
00:08:41 horrendously awful things are happening.
00:08:44 Things that would shatter your imagination.

00:11:12 - Hi, officer, I'm looking for Sergeant Clay.
00:11:15 - And who are you?
00:11:16 - I'm Sergeant Bell, and you see I'm with the New York--
00:11:18 - Don't tell me.
00:11:19 You're a newspaper reporter, right?
00:11:21 I can smell you guys a mile away.
00:11:24 - You're right, I'm a journalist.
00:11:26 Look, there's this room down at the station house that,
00:11:28 well, someone kind of died mysteriously,
00:11:30 and I want to talk to Sergeant Bell about it.
00:11:32 - It's not gonna be any mystery how the next guy dies
00:11:34 if I let any unauthorized people in that house.
00:11:37 - Look, uh, isn't there a way that maybe you and I
00:11:45 could get to a gentleman's agreement?
00:11:47 - You're talking into my deaf ear, pal.
00:11:49 Now take my advice and beat it before the sergeant comes out.
00:11:52 - Okay, I'll take your advice.
00:12:00 (wind howling)
00:12:09 (wind howling)
00:12:12 - Like we're in the wrong season suddenly.
00:12:24 Damn dust, all these high winds, pretty unusual.
00:12:28 By the way, I hear Cindy Horan never went home last night.
00:12:33 - So? Huh, it sure wouldn't be the first time.
00:12:36 I remember once she was sitting in--
00:12:39 (glass shattering)
00:12:42 (alarm blaring)
00:12:45 (alarm blaring)
00:12:48 (alarm blaring)
00:13:16 - You know something?
00:13:19 Ever since Father Thomas hanged himself,
00:13:22 Dunwich ain't been the same.
00:13:25 It's kind of scary.
00:13:27 - Uh, a few beers and you fellas start seeing
00:13:30 ghouls and devils all over the place.
00:13:32 - Well, you saw what happened, didn't you?
00:13:34 - Sure, but that doesn't mean there isn't any explanation.
00:13:37 Could have been a truck passing by, a vibration.
00:13:40 Anyway, I've lost my mirror.
00:13:42 - You forget who our ancestors were.
00:13:45 - No, I forgot how many beers you've drunk.
00:13:49 So let's have another house pies.
00:13:52 (thunder rumbling)
00:13:55 (eerie music)
00:13:58 - I gotta go.
00:14:07 - But wait, what about the--
00:14:08 - See you. - Me too.
00:14:09 Wait up, Mike.
00:14:10 I'll see you around, so long.
00:14:11 - No, wait, Mike, rise!
00:14:14 (eerie music)
00:14:17 - Brand new building, new construction.
00:14:22 I'm telling you.
00:14:24 Build garbage like this,
00:14:29 I'm gonna lose all of my customers.
00:14:32 - The language is risque, I admit it,
00:14:38 but the overall message couldn't have been more puritanical.
00:14:42 - And why did you choose the topic of incest?
00:14:46 - When I was eight years old, I wanted to marry my father.
00:14:51 I guess all girls that age want to marry their fathers.
00:14:55 Anyway, I got over it pretty quickly.
00:14:58 He was a drunk.
00:15:00 One day, he just picked up and left my mother and me.
00:15:05 - Did this leave any particular emotional feeling
00:15:08 in you at the time?
00:15:10 - Emptiness.
00:15:12 That and pity for my mother.
00:15:14 I began to hate all men, and I--
00:15:17 - Excuse me, Jerry.
00:15:20 Oh, hi, Sandra.
00:15:21 How are you?
00:15:22 Hello, Emily.
00:15:23 - Well, what comes so early?
00:15:26 I mean, I thought we'd made it for eight.
00:15:29 - That's the trouble, I can't make it tonight.
00:15:31 - Huh?
00:15:32 - I have to see Bob.
00:15:33 - Oh, Bob.
00:15:35 - You're not upset, are you?
00:15:37 - No, I'm not upset.
00:15:39 I may be a little worried, perhaps.
00:15:41 I mean, you have been seeing an awful lot of him,
00:15:43 haven't you, lately?
00:15:45 - Oh.
00:15:46 Poor Bob.
00:15:48 - Hmm?
00:15:49 - He's a sick and lonely kid.
00:15:52 I don't see why people hate him so.
00:15:57 His mother was what you'd call a woman of easy virtue.
00:16:00 No husband, no morals.
00:16:02 Here in Dunwich, anybody like that is also branded a witch.
00:16:08 - Look, Sandra, I don't believe those idiots
00:16:12 who tell me that our ancestors were Salem witch burners,
00:16:16 all right?
00:16:17 - Okay, okay.
00:16:18 - Jerry, I am sorry.
00:16:21 - Don't worry.
00:16:22 - I'll see you tomorrow, around nine?
00:16:24 - Sure thing.
00:16:25 - Bye.
00:16:26 - Bye.
00:16:27 - So long, Sandra.
00:16:29 - Bye-bye, and take it easy.
00:16:31 - Jack, bye.
00:16:33 - Bye.
00:16:35 (eerie music)
00:16:37 - Okay, Sandra, where were we?
00:16:39 - On the same old problem, men.
00:16:43 Why do they have to make life so difficult?
00:16:47 (growling)
00:16:48 (screaming)
00:16:50 (screeching)
00:16:51 - Sandra, Sandra.
00:16:53 (gasping)
00:16:54 Did he hurt you?
00:16:56 Did he claw you?
00:16:57 - Oh, he was just frightened.
00:16:59 Strange, it's the first time he ever acted up like that.
00:17:02 (eerie music)
00:17:04 - He loves to have you pet him.
00:17:07 He always comes to you when you're here.
00:17:09 Something must have frightened him.
00:17:11 (screeching)
00:17:13 - You give me the dirtiest thoughts.
00:17:20 - I'm telling you, you're gonna end up a dirty old man.
00:17:24 A pervert, peeping Tom.
00:17:29 Peeping Tom.
00:17:30 - Talk about box lunches, man.
00:17:34 - Saw a porno flick once,
00:17:38 where this guy got so carried away,
00:17:40 he humped himself to death.
00:17:42 Too much of a good thing.
00:17:44 - Yeah, but what a way to go.
00:17:46 (sighing)
00:17:50 - What's the matter, never see a body on Earth before?
00:17:56 - Any law against looking?
00:17:58 - Yeah.
00:17:59 - Okay, I'm leaving.
00:18:01 Time you got.
00:18:05 Let's flip to see who goes in the hole.
00:18:08 - All right.
00:18:09 - Call it.
00:18:11 - Heads.
00:18:12 - Tails, in the hole, sucker.
00:18:15 - Shit.
00:18:16 (whistling)
00:18:27 (whistling)
00:18:29 (whistling)

00:19:23 - What are you still doing here, pal?
00:19:25 - Oh, come on, fellas.
00:19:26 - What do you want from us?
00:19:28 - Nothing, I'm just curious about this girl here, that's all.
00:19:31 - Look, why don't you guys go ahead with your work,
00:19:33 and I'll pretend I'm not around.
00:19:35 - Well, move, 'cause we're almost finished.
00:19:39 (birds chirping)
00:19:42 (doorbell buzzing)

00:20:29 (grunting)
00:20:31 - It's five o'clock.
00:20:45 We've bust our balls enough, let's go.
00:20:48 - Amen.
00:20:53 - Hey, hey, you're not gonna,
00:20:56 you're not gonna leave her like that, are you?
00:20:58 - Uh, union hours.
00:21:00 Anyways, what does she care?
00:21:01 She's not in any hurry.
00:21:03 Is she?
00:21:05 (sighing)
00:21:09 (door opening)

00:24:18 (groaning)
00:24:20 (screaming)
00:24:24 (screaming)
00:24:32 - But for you, Mary would have suffered a terrible death.
00:24:47 - I was just lucky.
00:24:49 - No, it was written.
00:24:51 Are you acquainted with the Book of Enoch?
00:24:55 A text which dates back to more than 4,000 years ago.
00:24:59 It contains man's first recorded description
00:25:02 of his boundless mortal fear in the face of malice itself.
00:25:07 A demanding, implacable enemy
00:25:09 whose search for blood is never satiated.
00:25:12 Mary, tell your experience to the man
00:25:15 who witnessed the death of Enoch.
00:25:18 Tell your experience,
00:25:19 everything you witnessed during our last seance.
00:25:23 - The city of the dead.
00:25:25 The living dead.
00:25:28 A cursed city.
00:25:31 Where the gates of hell have been opened.
00:25:35 - Where, uh, where exactly is this city?
00:25:41 - I don't know where it is.
00:25:44 It's called Dunwich.
00:25:46 - Well, I've never heard of it.
00:25:49 How do you know?
00:25:51 I mean, how can you be so sure?
00:25:53 - I read the name.
00:25:55 On a tombstone.
00:25:58 - Mr. Bell, if those gates are left open,
00:26:01 it may be the end of humanity.
00:26:03 We've got to try to get them shut again.
00:26:06 At midnight on Monday, we go into All Saints Day.
00:26:09 The night of the dead begins then.
00:26:11 And if the portals of hell don't get shut before,
00:26:14 no dead body will ever be able to rest in peace again.
00:26:17 And so the dead will rise up and take over the earth,
00:26:20 and you must, you've got to get to Dunwich.
00:26:22 You must reclose those gates.
00:26:25 (dramatic music)

00:26:54 - Bob?
00:27:02 Bob, are you here?
00:27:04 (gasps)
00:27:07 Bob?
00:27:11 Bob?
00:27:15 (gasps)
00:27:17 (whimpers)

00:27:24 Bob?
00:27:26 (whimpers)
00:27:29 Bob?
00:27:31 Bob!
00:27:33 What's happened?
00:27:35 Did you hurt yourself?
00:27:36 (screeches)
00:27:39 Bob?
00:27:42 (screeches)
00:27:45 Bob!
00:27:49 Bob!
00:27:51 Bob!
00:27:54 Bob, don't leave me alone!
00:27:56 I'm going crazy!
00:27:58 (whimpers)
00:28:01 (dramatic music)
00:28:04 (screeches)
00:28:12 (thuds)
00:28:16 (whimpers)
00:28:19 (dramatic music)
00:28:22 (phone rings)
00:28:36 - Hello.
00:28:38 Ah, it's you, Mr. Robbins.
00:28:40 No, Emily's not here, I'm afraid.
00:28:43 What's that?
00:28:45 - She's usually home this hour of the night.
00:28:47 I hope nothing's happened to her.
00:28:49 There's been a lot of strange talk circulating.
00:28:51 - Oh, come now, Mr. Robbins, ignore it.
00:28:54 People here in this town thrive on that stuff.
00:28:56 You should know that by now.
00:28:58 She'll be home in another couple of minutes.
00:29:01 If you need me for any reason, though, feel free to call.
00:29:03 I should be at the studio for at least another hour or so, okay?
00:29:07 Goodbye, Mr. Robbins.
00:29:09 Goodbye.
00:29:11 (thuds)
00:29:13 (whistles)
00:29:17 (sighs)
00:29:19 (scratching)
00:29:23 (whistles)
00:29:29 (whistles)
00:29:32 (whistles)
00:29:37 (whistles)
00:29:41 - No, no, come on, tell me, please.
00:29:44 No, please, tell me.
00:29:45 - Hey, what the devil's the matter, honey?
00:29:48 You treat me like I was a stranger.
00:29:49 What have I done, tell me.
00:29:51 - How come you picked out here to park?
00:29:53 This place gives me the wheelies.
00:29:55 - Oh, Rose, go on, you're not a little child now.
00:29:58 You don't really believe in that stupid Salem witch stuff,
00:30:00 do you?
00:30:01 - No, of course not.
00:30:03 (sniffles)
00:30:09 (sniffs)
00:30:11 (sniffs)
00:30:13 (sniffs)
00:30:17 (sniffs)
00:30:20 (whimpers)
00:30:26 (whimpers)
00:30:30 - Now what's wrong?
00:30:33 - Sorry, tell me, but I keep thinking that,
00:30:36 like somebody's out there spying on us.
00:30:39 - Come on, there isn't anyone out there.
00:30:42 Watch, I'll turn on the headlights.
00:30:45 (thunder rumbles)
00:30:49 (whimpers)
00:30:51 (whimpers)
00:30:53 (thunder rumbles)
00:30:56 (thunder rumbles)
00:31:03 (thunder rumbles)
00:31:06 (thunder rumbles)
00:31:22 (screams)
00:31:24 (thunder rumbles)
00:31:28 (gasps)
00:31:30 (gags)
00:31:46 (gags)
00:31:57 (gags)
00:31:59 (gags)
00:32:07 (gags)
00:32:13 (gags)
00:32:24 (gags)
00:32:26 (gags)
00:32:38 (gags)
00:32:42 (screams)
00:32:44 (screams)
00:32:46 - You know this Dunnage?
00:32:56 He's not even on the map.
00:32:58 - So, you don't believe me, do you?
00:33:01 - That's not the point.
00:33:03 Just gonna be hard to find, that's all.
00:33:05 - We don't even know where to start, do we?
00:33:08 - You know, I get my inner visions too, you know.
00:33:11 Just let me meditate over a bottle of scotch and...
00:33:15 I'll take you anywhere.
00:33:20 (engine rumbles)
00:33:26 (tires screech)
00:33:29 (car door slams)
00:33:32 (indistinct radio chatter)
00:33:47 (sobs)
00:33:52 - Well, she certainly wasn't strangled.
00:33:55 Doesn't seem to have been any kind of physical abuse.
00:33:58 - What was the cause of her death, then?
00:34:00 - Some kind of cardiac arrest.
00:34:02 Only that expression on her face looks like pure fear,
00:34:04 like something scared her to death.
00:34:06 - Scared her? - Excuse me, Mr. Robbins.
00:34:08 Do you know if your daughter had a heart condition?
00:34:10 - No. - No?
00:34:12 - No, no, she was... - Mr. Robbins.
00:34:14 - Oh, God, God. - I'll take you with me.
00:34:16 - Well, what's our procedure? - Sit tight.
00:34:18 Everything depends on the autopsy.
00:34:20 - I'll sit tight. - You'll get your orders after that from the DA.
00:34:23 - Okay, but let me hear from you, Joe.
00:34:25 What's your opinion, Jerry?
00:34:29 (siren wails)
00:34:31 - What's there to say? I'm at a total loss.
00:34:33 - It was... it was Bob.
00:34:35 - That pervert, you can bet on it.
00:34:37 They should have put him away for life
00:34:39 after what he tried to do with poor little Ann Ross.
00:34:41 - Listen, I'll call out all cars after that boy.
00:34:44 And I wouldn't be surprised if he could tell us
00:34:47 what happened to Rosie Kelvin and Frank's kid, too.
00:34:50 - Sheriff Russell!
00:34:52 Sheriff, what the dickens is this?
00:34:55 - Good Lord.
00:35:07 That kid's gonna fry.
00:35:09 Mark my words.
00:35:11 (siren wails)
00:35:14 (tires screech)
00:35:16 - So your newspaper editor wouldn't believe you, huh?
00:35:23 - Listen, when Adrian De Niro told me about Ann
00:35:28 two years ago that I'd meet a girl who'd been buried alive,
00:35:31 I didn't believe him either.
00:35:33 I mean, I laughed right in his face.
00:35:35 - De Niro was aware of many things.
00:35:38 He knew all about the City of the Dead.
00:35:42 - Okay, okay.
00:35:44 Say I believe you.
00:35:46 Did you see, when you were in this trance,
00:35:48 did you see anything besides that tombstone?
00:35:51 - Oh, yes.
00:35:53 I saw a priest...
00:35:55 who by hanging himself
00:36:01 opened the gates of hell.
00:36:04 He must be destroyed.
00:36:07 (bells chime)
00:36:09 - May he forgive us our trespasses,
00:36:12 as we forgive those who trespass against us.
00:36:15 And lead us not into temptation,
00:36:17 but deliver us from evil.
00:36:19 For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory.
00:36:22 - Oh, amen.
00:36:25 The Lord is my shepherd.
00:36:27 I shall not walk... - This way, please.
00:36:30 - We lie down in green pasture.
00:36:32 Yes.
00:36:33 I walk through the valley of the shadows.
00:36:35 - Where is she? Where is my Emily?
00:36:37 - We're still preparing, Mrs. Robbins.
00:36:40 (sobbing)
00:36:43 (sobbing)
00:36:45 (liquid pouring)
00:36:50 (liquid pouring)
00:36:56 (water running)
00:37:01 (water running)
00:37:07 (lid clatters)
00:37:09 (water running)
00:37:14 (water running)
00:37:19 (water running)
00:37:24 (water running)
00:37:29 (water running)
00:37:34 (water running)
00:37:39 (footsteps)
00:37:42 - Mrs. Holden.
00:37:44 - Mrs. Holden?
00:37:45 - Yes.
00:37:46 - Mrs. Holden died last night,
00:37:48 and according to Dr. Thompson, was frightened to death.
00:37:50 - Frightened to death?
00:37:52 - That's what he said.
00:37:53 - Fear.
00:37:54 - Of what?
00:37:55 - Damned if I know, Doc.
00:37:57 It's the strangest thing I ever heard of.
00:38:00 - Fear.
00:38:02 - There's been talk that Rose Calvin
00:38:04 and Tommy Fisher disappeared too.
00:38:06 They went to the movies last night,
00:38:07 and nobody's seen them since.
00:38:09 - That makes five people that have disappeared
00:38:10 in the last 48 hours.
00:38:12 I think it's Bob.
00:38:14 I don't believe in this superstitious nonsense.
00:38:17 Yeah, maybe you're right.
00:38:19 - Sure.
00:38:21 Remember two years ago when Bob took my little Ann
00:38:23 into the woods?
00:38:25 It was a miracle we found him in time.
00:38:27 - Yeah, well I say it's him.
00:38:29 He's the one causing all the trouble around here.
00:38:32 God only knows what he did to poor Emily.
00:38:34 - All I know is the air in Dunwich is getting awful thick.
00:38:38 Soon as I can find somebody to buy my shop and my house,
00:38:41 I'm for moosin'.
00:38:43 You can bet your ass.
00:38:45 - Calm down, dear.
00:38:46 Take it easy.
00:38:47 Calm down.
00:38:49 - My baby.
00:38:50 My poor baby.
00:38:52 - You'd...
00:38:54 You'd...
00:38:55 You'd better take John John out.
00:38:58 Yes, of course.
00:39:00 John John, come on, let's go outside.
00:39:02 We'll take a walk.
00:39:04 You have to be strong now.
00:39:05 You have to find the courage to face life.
00:39:07 You have to be a man now.
00:39:09 You know what I mean?
00:39:12 [car approaching]
00:39:15 [car door closes]
00:39:17 [car engine]
00:39:19 [car engine]
00:39:21 [car engine]
00:39:23 [car engine]
00:39:25 [car engine]
00:39:27 [car engine]
00:39:29 [car engine]
00:39:31 [car engine]
00:39:33 [car engine]
00:39:35 [car engine]
00:39:37 [car engine]
00:39:39 [car door opens]
00:39:41 [footsteps]
00:39:43 [footsteps]
00:39:45 [footsteps]
00:39:47 [footsteps]
00:39:49 [car engine]
00:39:51 [car engine]
00:39:53 [crying]
00:39:56 [crying]
00:39:58 [crying]
00:40:00 [car engine]
00:40:02 [crying]
00:40:04 [crying]
00:40:06 [car engine]
00:40:08 [car engine]
00:40:10 [car engine]
00:40:12 [car engine]
00:40:14 [car engine]
00:40:16 [car engine]
00:40:18 I'm hungry.
00:40:20 Good. There's a lollipop in the glove box.
00:40:24 [footsteps]
00:40:26 Look, I'm not joking. I'm starved.
00:40:28 Look, you're the one that got me out here in the armpit of the world
00:40:31 chasing your galloping cadavers.
00:40:35 Come on.
00:40:37 Let's go have a snack someplace, huh?
00:40:39 Okay.
00:40:42 You, uh, want to give up?
00:40:45 Look, why don't you get in the car and we'll go and check out the local cuisine?
00:40:49 [sighs]
00:40:54 Don't be upset.
00:40:56 Upset? Who's upset?
00:40:59 According to your theory, we have less than 48 hours before this, uh, All Saints Day.
00:41:05 Oh, please, not now. Do you mind?
00:41:07 Come on. Let's go check out the, uh, local cuisine, huh?
00:41:11 [engine starts]
00:41:25 [engine revs]
00:41:27 [car engine]
00:41:33 [engine revs]
00:41:35 [doorbell rings]
00:41:43 [doorbell rings]
00:42:02 [doorbell rings]
00:42:04 [doorbell rings]
00:42:13 [roaring]
00:42:20 [screaming]
00:42:22 [screaming]
00:42:24 [screaming]
00:42:26 [roaring]
00:42:52 [roaring]
00:42:54 [roaring]
00:43:13 [roaring]
00:43:15 [roaring]
00:43:43 [roaring]
00:43:45 [roaring]
00:43:57 [roaring]
00:44:03 [roaring]
00:44:11 [roaring]
00:44:13 [roaring]
00:44:18 [roaring]
00:44:25 [roaring]
00:44:30 [roaring]
00:44:36 [roaring]
00:44:38 [roaring]
00:44:47 [roaring]
00:44:58 [roaring]
00:45:03 [screaming]
00:45:06 Mommy!
00:45:08 Daddy! Mommy! Daddy!
00:45:12 Mommy! Mommy!
00:45:14 What's the matter, honey?
00:45:16 Emily's back. I saw her looking in the window.
00:45:18 She wanted to catch me.
00:45:20 Oh, Emily went away forever, John John.
00:45:23 She's in heaven.
00:45:25 I saw her. I swear I saw her. I really did.
00:45:28 We better call the doctor.
00:45:31 I'm all right. I don't need a doctor.
00:45:34 I don't want a doctor. I saw her.
00:45:37 You've had a big day. You're upset.
00:45:40 We all are.
00:45:42 Off you go now. Go to bed.
00:45:44 I don't want to go, Mommy. I'm scared.
00:45:46 Emily's going to catch me. I know it.
00:45:49 Oh.
00:45:52 [sobbing]
00:45:55 [music playing]
00:45:58 [music playing]
00:46:00 [music playing]
00:46:29 [thud]
00:46:31 [phone ringing]
00:46:52 [phone ringing]
00:46:59 [phone ringing]
00:47:01 Hello?
00:47:13 It's me, Sandra. You have to come right away.
00:47:16 No, there's no time to explain.
00:47:18 You wouldn't believe me anyway.
00:47:20 Just come, please. I'm having a nervous breakdown.
00:47:23 Yes, okay, Sandra. Just calm down and control yourself.
00:47:26 What is it?
00:47:28 There are only 2 possibilities.
00:47:30 Either I'm going out of my mind
00:47:32 or something very, very strange is happening.
00:47:34 Look, take it easy. I'll be there in 10 minutes, honey.
00:47:37 Bye.
00:47:39 [sobbing]
00:47:53 [sobbing]
00:47:55 [sobbing]
00:48:13 [sobbing]
00:48:15 [doorbell ringing]
00:48:33 [doorbell ringing]
00:48:41 [doorbell ringing]
00:48:43 Jerry, is that you?
00:48:49 Yeah, it's me.
00:48:51 Come in.
00:48:57 Come in.
00:49:00 [footsteps]
00:49:02 What do you need that for?
00:49:12 I don't know. Maybe a crucifix would be better.
00:49:16 A crucifix? What the hell are you talking about?
00:49:20 Tell me the truth.
00:49:25 Do you consider me a basket case?
00:49:27 No, not at all. Why?
00:49:29 You're nurturing a pet neurosis, that's all.
00:49:32 Like about 70% of the female population of this country.
00:49:35 So according to you, I'm not star-graving mad.
00:49:38 At least not yet.
00:49:40 Don't be silly. Of course not.
00:49:42 Sometimes you may drink a little more than you should,
00:49:45 but that's no reason to be taken away and put into a loony house.
00:49:48 No, no, I'd rather not right now, and you really shouldn't either.
00:49:51 All right.
00:49:53 You better see for yourself.
00:49:55 It's in the kitchen.
00:49:57 The kitchen?
00:49:59 Uh-huh.
00:50:01 Oh, Christ.
00:50:13 [hissing]
00:50:15 [music playing]
00:50:23 [music playing]
00:50:25 Was I just imagining things?
00:50:39 No, get me. It's not--
00:50:41 Oh, it's her, Mrs. Holden.
00:50:43 This morning she was inside a coffin at the funeral home,
00:50:46 and now she's here in my kitchen.
00:50:48 How? How did she get here?
00:50:50 I don't know. I heard a noise.
00:50:52 I came to look, and there she was on my floor.
00:50:55 I called you right after.
00:50:57 I thought I was losing my mind.
00:50:59 Okay. Let's use our heads and not panic.
00:51:02 Calm down. We've got to find out how she got here, all right?
00:51:06 I couldn't give a damn how she got here.
00:51:08 I just want her gone.
00:51:10 Look, let's get out of here.
00:51:12 I can't take the sight of her.
00:51:14 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:51:16 [music playing]
00:51:18 [gurgling]
00:51:20 At this point, a good stiff drink is the only medicine.
00:51:26 What are you going to do?
00:51:28 Well, I don't believe in the twilight zone,
00:51:31 so I guess I'll call the sheriff on this matter.
00:51:34 And what did he tell him?
00:51:36 Exactly what you told me--
00:51:38 that you heard this noise, that you came running and saw her there,
00:51:41 and the rest is up to them.
00:51:43 [growling]
00:51:45 [gasp]
00:51:47 [growling]
00:51:49 [music playing]
00:51:51 [ringing]
00:51:53 [music playing]
00:51:55 [ringing]
00:51:57 [music playing]
00:51:59 [ringing]
00:52:01 [music playing]
00:52:03 [ringing]
00:52:05 [music playing]
00:52:07 [ringing]
00:52:09 [ringing]
00:52:11 It's all closed. We left it wide open.
00:52:14 [music playing]
00:52:16 [ringing]
00:52:18 [music playing]
00:52:20 [ringing]
00:52:22 [ringing]
00:52:24 [music playing]
00:52:26 [ringing]
00:52:28 [music playing]
00:52:30 What the--
00:52:31 [music playing]
00:52:34 Well, someone took her away.
00:52:36 Or maybe she just left.
00:52:38 Don't be ridiculous.
00:52:39 Bodies don't get up and walk away by themselves.
00:52:42 [growling]
00:52:43 [gasp]
00:52:44 [growling]
00:52:45 She's still here.
00:52:46 She's still in the house.
00:52:48 [growling]
00:52:49 Oh, she's in here.
00:52:50 Sandra.
00:52:51 I know she's in the house.
00:52:52 I don't want to see her anymore.
00:52:54 Sandra, this is no way--
00:52:55 Jerry, get her out, please.
00:52:57 Tell her to go.
00:52:58 Yes.
00:52:59 She's in here.
00:53:00 Do you hear her?
00:53:01 Jerry, she's in here.
00:53:02 I can't take it anymore.
00:53:03 Sandra.
00:53:04 Sandra, calm down.
00:53:06 Calm down.
00:53:07 Here?
00:53:08 Don't let your imagination run away with you.
00:53:10 I don't know what the hell is going on in here either.
00:53:12 So we're going to take it step by step
00:53:15 and search every room in the house, all right?
00:53:17 And we'll find the reason.
00:53:19 All right, Sandra?
00:53:20 Now, you're going to follow me.
00:53:21 Follow me now.
00:53:22 Come on now.
00:53:24 That's it.
00:53:25 All right?
00:53:26 All right.
00:53:27 I'll do whatever you say.
00:53:30 [knocking]
00:53:32 [music playing]
00:53:45 [music playing]
00:54:14 I don't think I'll manage to sleep here tonight.
00:54:16 Well, if you want to stay at my studio or the house,
00:54:18 you're always welcome.
00:54:19 [gasp]
00:54:20 [growling]
00:54:22 [scream]
00:54:25 [glass shattering]
00:54:26 [music playing]
00:54:29 [gasp]
00:54:30 [music playing]
00:54:33 [gagging]
00:54:42 [moaning]
00:54:45 Good god, it's blood!
00:54:48 Blood!
00:54:49 [moaning]
00:54:52 [music playing]
00:54:55 Dunwich?
00:55:04 Yeah.
00:55:05 Yes, yes, I know it.
00:55:07 Odd that you're looking for Dunwich.
00:55:10 Yes, matter of fact.
00:55:11 Dunwich is right there.
00:55:13 Yes, that's the town where Father Thomas--
00:55:16 terrible, oh, terrible.
00:55:19 You know that Dunwich was built on the ruins
00:55:22 of the original Salem, the village of witches
00:55:25 and heresy and evil.
00:55:28 Yes, but can you tell us how to get there?
00:55:31 It's not easy.
00:55:32 You'll have to go back towards the highway.
00:55:35 And as you approach it, there's a road going left,
00:55:40 that'll take you to Dunwich.
00:55:41 Thanks a lot.
00:55:43 Uh, just out of curiosity, why are you folks going down there?
00:55:49 Uh--
00:55:50 Well, we're just looking up a friend.
00:55:52 Oh, I see.
00:55:54 Thanks again.
00:56:00 [birds chirping]
00:56:03 The Lord help us.
00:56:20 [sighs]
00:56:22 [groans]
00:56:40 Hey, Bob.
00:56:48 Hi, Ann.
00:56:50 What are you doing in the backseat of my dad's car?
00:56:57 I didn't know where to sleep.
00:56:59 You won't tell on me, will you?
00:57:01 No, of course not.
00:57:02 Only you get some awful weird ideas.
00:57:04 Come on, smoke a little joint with me.
00:57:06 Only then you better split, okay?
00:57:08 It's him!
00:57:09 Go on, get out of here!
00:57:10 What are you doing?
00:57:11 I'm not the dog!
00:57:12 You're getting out of here!
00:57:14 I can explain everything, Mr. Ross!
00:57:17 Shut up, you bastard!
00:57:19 What were you trying to do to my daughter, huh?
00:57:26 Please let me explain, Mr. Ross.
00:57:30 I was only looking for a place to sleep.
00:57:32 I swear.
00:57:34 Pervert!
00:57:38 No!
00:57:39 Murderer!
00:57:40 No.
00:57:41 No.
00:57:43 [groans]
00:57:46 [grunts]
00:57:49 [grunts]
00:57:51 [groans]
00:57:56 [grunts]
00:58:03 [grunts]
00:58:17 [grunts]
00:58:19 [screams]
00:58:40 [screams]
00:58:42 [sizzling]
00:58:45 [sizzling]
00:58:48 [sizzling]
00:58:50 [snoring]
00:59:16 [snoring]
00:59:18 [snoring]
00:59:23 I guess there's nobody in.
00:59:30 That's strange.
00:59:32 What do you plan on doing?
00:59:34 I have a feeling this is where the answer is.
00:59:36 We've got to find the undertaker or someone from the funeral parlor.
00:59:39 Maybe they've gone to the cemetery.
00:59:41 You go. I'll wait in your office.
00:59:43 I don't think I could take a cemetery right now.
00:59:46 Fair enough.
00:59:48 [footsteps]
00:59:50 [engine starts]
01:00:01 [music playing]
01:00:12 [music playing]
01:00:14 Dweller of the Twilight Void.
01:00:21 That's heavy. Well?
01:00:23 Yes. That's it.
01:00:26 That's the very same tombstone that I saw in my trance.
01:00:31 Great.
01:00:33 Welcome to the City of the Dead.
01:00:35 Now what do we do?
01:00:37 We must find the priest's grave and uncover him.
01:00:40 There isn't much time left.
01:00:42 All Saints Day begins at midnight.
01:00:44 Well, where do we start?
01:00:46 Okay, well, it's got to be one of these.
01:00:51 You know, good thing he didn't hang himself in Arlington.
01:00:54 [music playing]
01:00:59 [music playing]
01:01:02 [music playing]
01:01:04 [music playing]
01:01:30 [music playing]
01:01:32 Hey!
01:01:36 Yes?
01:01:38 Excuse me. I wonder if you could give us some information.
01:01:41 Sure.
01:01:43 Well, we're looking for a tombstone of a priest who hanged himself.
01:01:49 Father Thomas?
01:01:51 We don't know his name.
01:01:58 Well, why are you looking for his burial site?
01:02:00 It's, uh...
01:02:02 It's a long story.
01:02:04 One you might not want to believe.
01:02:06 Try me. I'm just about ready to believe anything at this point.
01:02:10 That's the whole story.
01:02:12 My God in heaven.
01:02:16 The living dead.
01:02:18 And that's why you're here in Dunwich?
01:02:20 What do you want to do? What are you hoping to accomplish?
01:02:23 The death of Father Thomas
01:02:25 gave birth to some... some evil.
01:02:29 [gunshots]
01:02:31 [gasps]
01:02:33 It worked! It worked!
01:02:37 [music playing]
01:02:39 [screaming]
01:02:42 [screaming]
01:02:45 [screaming]
01:02:47 [screaming]
01:02:54 [screaming]
01:03:06 [screaming]
01:03:08 [moaning]
01:03:32 [moaning]
01:03:34 [moaning]
01:03:46 [moaning]
01:03:48 Yeah? Who's speaking?
01:04:09 [moaning]
01:04:11 All right, John-John.
01:04:21 Now listen to me.
01:04:23 You take it easy, and you stay right there and don't move,
01:04:26 and I'll be right over.
01:04:28 What happened?
01:04:30 That was Emily's little brother, John-John.
01:04:33 He just told me that Emily killed her parents.
01:04:37 Emily died two days ago.
01:04:40 [music playing]
01:04:43 [music playing]
01:05:10 [music playing]
01:05:12 [child crying]
01:05:25 I'm scared, Jerry. I'm scared.
01:05:27 It's all over. Everything's going to be all right.
01:05:30 Would you girls take care of him, please?
01:05:32 Sure. Come on.
01:05:34 My car?
01:05:38 Yeah.
01:05:39 In you get.
01:05:41 God.
01:05:43 God almighty.
01:05:45 Totally butchered.
01:05:47 Literally ripped to shreds, those two.
01:05:50 You're sure it was Emily?
01:05:53 Yeah, but she was all different.
01:05:56 Emily was like--
01:05:58 She was like-- She was dead.
01:06:01 And she wasn't even Mommy and Daddy.
01:06:03 Poor kid. You poor darling.
01:06:06 Jerry! Jerry, listen!
01:06:08 We gotta go to the funeral parlor.
01:06:10 And then we gotta look for that-- that grave of the priest.
01:06:13 All right.
01:06:14 Well?
01:06:16 Get out of here.
01:06:17 Scared to death.
01:06:19 John-John, it's all right.
01:06:25 It's going to be all right.
01:06:27 It's all over now.
01:06:29 [music playing]
01:06:32 [music playing]
01:06:34 [music playing]
01:07:02 Now listen, Sandra.
01:07:04 Go to the studio with John-John.
01:07:06 Stay there and don't let him out of your sight.
01:07:08 Yeah, sure.
01:07:09 Not for any reason.
01:07:10 Listen, Jerry, we better get a move on.
01:07:12 We only have a couple hours before All Saints Day.
01:07:14 God knows what else could happen.

01:11:27 No, I think you'd be better if you took care of the kids.
01:11:30 All right, I'll take care of the kids.
01:11:33 Mary.
