00:00Alex Miller and Joe Cran here for the Sheffield Star with smiles on our faces because Sheffield
00:05Wednesday have jumped out of the championship relegation zone for the first time, but we're
00:10still baking up. Since 1985. We're still baking up back in August. A whole autumn and a whole
00:16winter has come and gone and Sheffield Wednesday are where they want to be. There's two games
00:22left, nothing's done, no one's celebrating but it's a good feeling. There were some celebrating.
00:27They needed a performance today after the way the results went on Saturday. It would
00:36have been anti-climatic as an understatement if Wednesday hadn't got all three points today.
00:41It started brilliantly, Josh went nuts with it. I think it's fair to say the goal this
00:45season, I don't think we'll be seeing anything like that.
00:48Let's just talk on that for a little bit because obviously we're going to talk about where
00:51it's left Wednesday. The technical ability in that goal.
00:56It was coming across him. A really, really good goal. I think it just shows the sort
01:02of thing that Wednesday have been missing when Josh Winders isn't on the pitch.
01:07Those little moments of quality. 3-1 was the result. What did you make of the result? The
01:16first half was very scrappy. It was very scrappy. It felt quite tense. The two moments, Sammy
01:27Smodic's goal was very much taken like a bloke who was scoring his 31st goal of the season.
01:32And obviously Winders' moment. It was a first half that was scrappy and just devoid of a
01:36bit of quality.
01:37Yeah, it seemed to knock Wednesday for six a little bit when they equalised. It was four
01:40minutes I think afterwards. Wednesday were hit for six a bit with that. It just felt
01:47like they got into the end of the first half and 1-1 felt fair. I think the game was just
01:55bombing along really. The second half, Wednesday took pretty much control of it.
02:01It was an excellent goal, wasn't it?
02:03Yeah, really good. A great ball from Masada to find Johnson. He finished brilliantly.
02:08Another important goal from Marvin Johnson. He's got quite a few of them this season since
02:12he's come back into the works. The third goal was a great finish as well.
02:16Yeah, I'll be honest. I saw that for the first time about ten minutes ago because my head
02:22was very much in my laptop and just heard a lot of shouting and didn't really know what
02:26was going on by the time I looked up all the Wednesday players were diving into the crowd.
02:29It's just one of those. Wednesday have been so bereft of luck this season. It feels so
02:35often that when it's come down to results, when it's come to moments in games, Wednesday
02:39just haven't had that slice of luck. Look, if that's the one we get and it effectively
02:44keeps Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, I think most people will take that.
02:48I spoke to Danny Real afterwards. He doesn't subscribe to the idea that Wednesday have
02:54gone from the hunters to the hunted. He wants Wednesday to chase down Plymouth, to go up
02:58Blackburn. There's six points remaining and he wants all six.
03:01Yeah, I think Wednesday can still finish 15th.
03:03That's right, isn't it?
03:04But yeah, to be fair, that's not changed, has it? That has been Danny's viewpoint for
03:10a long time. He wants to win every game and it doesn't really matter who they go up against.
03:14I think probably sometimes, maybe even to their detriment, you look at when they've
03:18tried to go at teams that they maybe shouldn't have tried to go at. But today it paid off
03:23and you look at the two games that are left and you wouldn't say they're easy games
03:30by any stretch, but you wouldn't say that they're games that are completely out of Wednesday's
03:34reach either.
03:36Yeah, a word on the fans. Nearly 7,400. Danny made the comment, didn't he, that it made
03:45an away game feel like a home game and it sort of did. Where's your car, by the way?
03:49We're just sort of wandering through Lancashire. It very much felt like that. It was immense,
03:55wasn't it?
03:56Yeah, from the off as well. I think what Danny said about it becoming a home game, it did
04:01really feel that way. They just had him at the back and I think it's no surprise that
04:08the important goals came in front of that stand as well. I think a big day for Barry
04:15Bannon, his 400th appearance for Wednesday and he was saying to me afterwards that he
04:19was pretty pleased that he won because if he'd not then his 400th would have had to
04:23go under the radar a little bit. But Baz was full of praise for the Wednesday fans afterwards.
04:30He said that they were immense and I just think that in a season like this with the
04:36things that have happened to Sheffield Wednesday and where they're at, if you'd said to me
04:43four months ago that Wednesday were going to be coming to Blackburn with three games
04:47to go, 7,000 Wednesday fans there and they still had a chance, I'd have snatched your
04:51hand off.
04:52No, it's more of a chance. It's in their hands. Sheffield Wednesday, as we said, three
04:551-1's over Blackburn Rovers, two games yet to go. How are your nerves? As ever, keep
