00:00 Yeah.
00:01 Yeah, thanks, Karim.
00:02 You said President Biden still hasn't made a decision on taking executive action on the
00:06 border.
00:07 Why is there a holdup on making a final decision on this?
00:10 What factors are being considered before the White House makes a call on this matter?
00:15 I mean, look, Joe, we spent a couple of months working with the Senate, Republicans and Democrats,
00:21 to make sure that we came up with a bipartisan solution to deal with the border, right, to
00:27 deal with the challenges at the border.
00:29 We believe that that was the best way.
00:31 We still believe that's the best way to move forward, because it would be tough, it would
00:35 be fair, and it's gotten support from places that you would never think, right?
00:41 The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Border Patrol Union.
00:44 That's important.
00:45 And so we believe that is the best way to move forward here.
00:48 We're always going to evaluate other options as it relates to an executive action, but
00:52 we are going to continue to be clear here.
00:54 The best way to move forward is to get that bipartisan proposal forward, and for, you
01:01 know, Republicans to not pick politics here, to pick majority of the American people.
01:06 I mean, is it a matter of there being concerns about opening the administration up to litigation
01:11 on this with executive action?
01:13 I mean, that's why we came up with the bipartisan proposal, right?
01:16 Because we believe that the way to actually deal with this is legislation.
01:20 The way to actually deal with this is to turn legislation into law, obviously.
01:25 And so that is the best way to move forward.
01:28 And no executive action is going to have the full resources that we need to get this done.
01:35 To get this done.
01:36 We're going to evaluate all of our options, as we've been saying, but we have to continue
01:41 to be really clear here.
01:43 Republicans need to act.
01:44 They need to move forward.
