The look of the Donkervoort F22 Art Edition was created by Dutch artist Anneke Wilbrink.

This one-off work belongs to a Dutch collector and long-time Donkervoort owner who plans to exhibit it in his own gallery.
Donkervoort endorsed the model, calling on current and future owners to give their imaginations free rein when it comes to personalizing their F22.
Donkervoort is the latest automaker to embrace the art car trend, unveiling a one-off version of its F22 track toy. The supercar features a unique exterior inspired by one of the Dutch owner's favorite works of art, adding a personal touch to the vehicle's bodywork.

The owner's name is Cees Lubbers and he plans to display the F22 Art Edition in his own gallery alongside artwork, cars and motorcycles. According to the Dutch company, Lubbers also has a red Donkervoort D8 GTO JD70 R that he frequently drives on the tracks, so he can turn this particular F22 into a "garage queen".

The original painting that inspired the Donkervoort F22 Art Edition livery was created by award-winning Dutch artist Anneke Wilbrink. The colorful piece, which brings together shades of cyan, green, yellow, orange and red scattered on a white background, also features the Donkervoort emblem. The artwork covers every inch of the F22's body panels, creating an eye-catching effect.

The resulting Art Edition was "proudly approved" by Donkervoort. The company urges current and future owners of the F22 to unleash their imagination in customizing it.

The Donkervoort F22 Art Edition retains the specifications of the standard model and features a turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine sourced from Audi. This engine delivers 492 hp (367 kW / 500 PS) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque, resulting in a "devilish" power-to-weight ratio of 666 PS per ton. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission complemented by a Torsen limited-slip differential.

Printing art on cars can be fun, but in Donkervoort's case we'd probably prefer the "Bare Naked" version of the F22 over the Art Edition pictured. Aside from the sinister look of the carbon fiber bodywork, this model shaves up to 20 kg (44 pounds) off the weight of the standard model when combined with optional carbon fiber wheels.
