Stork battles to save her eggs from powerful storm and a jealous male stork

Footage shows a stork's battle to save her eggs from severe storms and a jealous male stork.
The wildlife camera, which is owned by the non-profit SEO-BirdLife, is perched on a tower in Madrigal de las Altas Torres, Spain.
The camera has been recording the nest of a laying couple of white storks and recent footage showed the female desperately battling to keep her eggs alive.
In a period of 10 days, she sadly lost three out of her six eggs.
A male stork, which became jealous of the couple's nest after losing his mate, attacked the eggs and tossed two out.
SEO-BirdLife said: "Since the loss of his mate, the male from nest three is absolutely jealous of nest one."
One video shows the jealous male attacking the female while she nests and brutally pecking at her wings.
He successfully kicks her out of the nest before tossing the egg out.
Another one shows the male from nest three approaching the female as she incubates the eggs alone.
He then attempts to peck at one of the eggs but misses and ends up scuffling with the female before both fall out of the nest.
Sadly, the male gets back first and tosses another egg out of the nest.
To the add the misery, the area was hit by strong winds from Storm Nelson and a third egg away.
Video taken on March 27th shows the female stork desperately clinging to the nest during strong winds.
Thankfully, the embattled mother was able to flip the eggs as she must after every few hours of incubation.
SEO-BirdLife said: "Storm Nelson continues to rage across much of Spain.
"The female has been incubating for hours and needs to turn the eggs.
"Given the strong prevailing wind, she manages to get up and with great difficulty manages to rotate them and lie down on them again.
"The female endures incubating as long as she can. This time he succeeds and keeps her three eggs safe."
