उत्तराखंड के कुमाऊं के कुछ इलाकों में बैसाखी के त्‍योहार को बिखौती के नाम से मनाया जाता है। इस दिन दो द‍िन तक अलग-अलग जगहों पर मेला भरता है। बिखौती के दिन पहाड़ के कई इलाकों में नींबू की पूजा होती है। ऐसी मान्‍यता है क‍ि इस दिन पूजा के बाद नींबू के पेड़ के पत्तों और फूलों को सूंघा जाता है। गर्मियों में नींबू का सेवन करने से गर्मियों में फैलने वाली बीमारियां नहीं होती है।

In some areas of Kumaon of Uttarakhand, the festival of Baisakhi is celebrated by the name of Bikhoti. On this day, fairs are held at different places for two days. On the day of Bikhoti, lemon is worshiped in many areas of the mountains. It is believed that after worship on this day, leaves and flowers of the lemon tree are smelled. Consuming lemon in summer prevents diseases spread in summer.
