In a recent interview, the producer revealed that neither he nor Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, knew who Zendaya was when she was cast in the role. It was only after her casting that they discovered her worldwide fame and felt a sense of embarrassment. They just saw a talented young actress with huge potential.
