Greater Manchester elections information
May 2024 is a key month for local politics across Greater Manchester, with two matters to be voted on in one day.

On Thursday May 2 residents accross the city-region will be electing local councillors and the Mayor of Greater Manchester - which Andy Burnham will be running for for a third term.

People in Salford will also be electing the Salford City Mayor.

Residents will need to show a valid form of photo ID at the polling station.

Voter ID can be a passport, driving licence, some types of bus pass or proof of age card, and must be an original and not a photocopy.

You can vote in person at the polling station on the day or you can vote by post, or by proxy if you have selected one of these options before the appropriate deadlines in April.

You can find more information on the Greater Manchester elections on GMCA's social media pages.
