2019 ರ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಳಪತಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸುಮಲತಾ ಅಂಬರೀಶ್‌ ಅವರು ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ ಮಾಡಿ 7,03,660 ಮತಗಳನ್ನ ಪಡೆದು ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಜಯಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಳೆದ ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾನೂನು ತೊಡಕಿನಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು.In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Sumalata Ambarish contested as an independent candidate against the Dalpatis in the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency and won a landslide victory by securing 7,03,660 votes.
