The Israeli military has again launched an air attack on Lebanese territory. The attack is claimed to have killed an important commander of the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, as reported by Reuters and Al-Arabia on Monday, April 1, 2024.

The Israeli military, in its statement, claimed that a Hezbollah commander named Ismail Alzin was killed in an airstrike targeting a vehicle in Lebanese territory on the week of March 31, 2024, local time.

Ismail Alzin was identified by Tel Aviv as the commander of Hezbollah's anti-aircraft missile unit. Ismail Alzin was an important source of knowledge regarding anti-aircraft missiles and was responsible for dozens of anti-aircraft missile attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces, the Israeli military said in a statement.

Israel has so far killed around 25 members of the elite unit, including three commanders, such as Wisma Tawil, a senior Hezbollah officer who played a major role in directing the group's operations in southern Lebanon.

The Hezbollah group has been launching rocket attacks on Israeli territory since October last year to support its allies, who are fighting against the Tel Aviv military in the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah's rocket attack drew a response from the Israeli military, which further increased tensions on the border between Lebanon and Israel.
