Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge Partially Collapses After Container Ship Collision
  • last month
The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore partially collapsed on March 26th after being struck by a container ship, the DALI. The bridge carried Interstate 695 across the Patapsco River southeast of the city. Up to 7 people are believed to have fallen into the water during the incident. Two were rescued, with one in serious condition. Sonar detected submerged vehicles but the number is unknown due to low light and cold water hindering the rescue effort. The DALI is a 948-foot Singaporean ship operated by Synergy Marine and chartered by Maersk. Its 22 crew were still on board.
