Conservatives slump in latest opinion poll while Reform UK continue to climb

The Conservative Party's lead over Reform UK has narrowed to just four points, hitting a support level last observed during Liz Truss's premiership's final days. According to a YouGov survey on March 19-20, the Tories garnered 19% of the vote, while Reform secured 15%. This marks a one-point decrease for the Conservatives and a one-point increase for Reform compared to the previous poll on March 12-13.

The latest poll mirrors the Conservatives' lowest support levels seen after Liz Truss's mini-Budget. Meanwhile, Reform UK achieved its highest-ever vote share. Labour maintains its lead with 44% of the vote, while the Lib Dems and Greens remain stable at 9% and 8%, respectively. Among older Britons, support for the Conservatives stands at 32%, with 26% favouring Reform UK and 23% supporting Labour.
