Samsung Stock Surges 5% on Nvidia CEO's Remarks
  • last month
Samsung Electronics' stock price jumped over 5% after reports that Nvidia's CEO said Samsung's high bandwidth memory chips were in the "qualifying" stage for use in Nvidia's graphics processing units. Nvidia co-founder and CEO Jensen Huang hinted the firm is testing Samsung's new-generation HBM chips and spending "a lot of money" on HBM. The qualification process involves checking if Samsung's chips meet Nvidia's specific requirements but does not obligate purchases. Samsung's co-CEO said the firm expects over $100 million in revenue 2024 from advanced chip-packaging products.
