However, they claimed the challenge lay in mastering these new mechanics; yet this task felt unfulfilling and monotonous, often becoming simply another repetition of dodging, deflecting, countering, etc. Bosses that once offered breathtaking tests of skill became predictable puzzles with only one solution being possible: solve pattern after pattern until there's nothing new left - all at the expense of forgettable formulae!
Ouch... There have been glimpses of brilliance once seen here... A perfectly timed wall jump can bring exhilaration, and an especially spectacular dodge sequence against a boss may bring back memories... But these moments come and go like flashes in an otherwise gray sky; their passing only highlights its vast emptiness further.
