Remembering Volunteer Sean McKearney and Volunteer Eugene Martin in song

On May 13th 1974 East Tyrone lost two of it's youngest and most fearless Volunteers in a premature bomb explosion just outside Dungannon. Volunteer Sean McKearney and Volunteer Eugene Martin were both just 18 years old. Both young men were lifelong friends and were members of the local IRA Unit in Moy close to the Armagh border. They both came from staunch Republican Families and had experienced brutality and injustice from the Forces of the State. They were very politically aware at a young age and it did not take them long to realize that the only defense against the occupying enemy was by force of arms. They joined the local IRA Unit together and embarked on many operations in the local area and were not shy when called upon to assist their Comrades on larger operations in other parts of Tyrone and Armagh. Tyrone lost two brave Volunteers on that fateful night in 1974. Sean and Eugene will always be remembered by their Comrades and Friends in the Tyrone and further afield. Rest gently brave Heroes.
