BBC iPlayer app closes: Here is how you can still download content

From Tuesday 12th March perhaps a disappointing shift for BBC iPlayer enthusiasts reliant on its download functionality. The renowned streaming platform has officially ceased its download application, effective immediately. This means dedicated viewers accustomed to downloading content for offline viewing on laptops or PCs will no longer have that convenience.

While streaming remains an option for favourites like The Eastenders, The Traitors, and Gladiators on PCs, downloading post-March 11 is no longer an option. However, amidst this setback, a silver lining emerges: the BBC assures users that mobile and tablet apps remain unaffected, allowing for continued downloads and streaming. Despite this hiccup, the BBC iPlayer experience remains largely unchanged for mobile and tablet users.
