Taylor Swift's Exclusive Eras Tour Deal with Singapore Annoys Southeast Asian Neighbors
  • 2 months ago
Taylor Swift is performing six sold-out shows in Singapore as part of her Eras Tour, making it her only Southeast Asia stop due to an exclusive deal the country struck with concert organizers. Neighboring countries like Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia have expressed annoyance that the deal prevents Swift from performing in other Southeast Asian nations as well. However, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong defended the arrangement, saying agencies "negotiated a deal" for Swift to perform in Singapore exclusively and that he doesn't see it as "unfriendly" to neighbors.
