Unions for Canberra’s emergency staff say they are concerned about the safety of workplaces amid fears of contamination at several sites. Workers have already been moved out of the joint emergency services centre in Gungahlin due to concerns about the presence of Diesel and lead while asbestos has been found at the Aging city police station. Authorities say they are still able to respond to calls for help from the public, but unions and the opposition are demanding action.
