'Road House' Screenwriter Files Lawsuit Alleging Copyright Infringement in Remake
  • 2 months ago
R. Lance Hill, the screenwriter of the 1989 film "Road House," has filed a lawsuit against MGM Studios and Amazon Studios, alleging copyright infringement concerning the remake of "Road House." The complaint includes Hill's claim that he sought to reclaim the screenplay rights in November 2021, with Amazon's rights set to expire in November 2023 after the tech giant acquired MGM's film library. Hill accuses Amazon Studios of using generative AI to clone actors' voices during last year’s Hollywood strikes to progress the remake's production.
