It Will Use Brembo's Largest Carbon Brakes.1826 Hp, BUGATTI BOLIDE, Water Testing at Imola Circuit

The carbon discs have a diameter of 15.3 inches both front and rear, and they shine like hellfire at Imola.

Bugatti has added 21 images to its latest announcement about testing the crazy track-only Bolide at Imola. They all look amazing, but the picture above tells you everything you need to know. The Bolide is extremely fast, and with its massive 1,826 horsepower it takes some serious braking force to reel it in.

Stopping power comes from Brembo; specifically a "carbon-carbon" layout with eight-piston monoblock calipers at the front and six-piston units at the rear, each made of nickel-plated aluminium. All four clamps hold 15.3-inch carbon discs, but there are slightly thicker pads and rotors up front. There are also four pads on each wheel. Add it all up and you get the largest carbon braking system Brembo has ever created.

Bugatti recently took the Bolide to Imola, officially known as the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, to conduct wet-weather testing. The idea of driving a 3,200-pound car with more than 1,800 horsepower in the rain may sound like complete madness, but Bugatti is nothing if not insistent on rating its extreme machine in all climates.

Last we heard, customer deliveries of the Bolide were set to begin at the beginning of this year or right now. Bugatti's latest announcement doesn't offer any insight into exactly when owners will start receiving their cars. But thousands of people do not expect this; Only 40 units will be produced and the price of each is approximately 4 million dollars.
