Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes will direct four separate films about each Beatles member. The films will tell interconnected stories from each perspective and be released in 2027. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison have given approval. It's the first time full life story and music rights have been granted for scripted films. Mendes will have the freedom to delve into their lives with "nothing off limits." Mendes' first film, "American Beauty," garnered five Oscars in 2000.
