Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud will always be remembered as a respected statesman.
The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin also said Abdul Taib was a prominent figure who contributed a lot to the state of Sarawak and the country.
