Former Disney Channel star Bridgit Mendler is launching a space startup called Northwood Space, focused on building satellite ground stations. The company aims to mass produce ground stations, also known as teleports, to help address the bottleneck of satellite operators struggling to find availability. Northwood has raised $6 million in funding from investors, including Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz, and Also Capital. Northwood wants to deliver ground stations quickly, within days rather than months, and provide flexible access for satellite customers.
