Uber, Lyft, and Deliveroo Gig Workers Plan Valentine's Day Strikes, Demanding Better Pay and Conditions
  • 2 months ago
Workers for Uber, Lyft, and food delivery service Deliveroo in the US and UK are planning to strike on Valentine's Day over issues like pay and working conditions. In the US, a group representing 130,000 drivers says members will stop giving rides to and from airports in 10 cities for 2 hours to demand changes. In the UK, over 3,000 Deliveroo riders, primarily Portuguese speakers, will strike for 5 hours to call for fair compensation. The workers say they are tired of exploitation and want better pay as the platforms have cut fees.
