Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants Vote Overwhelmingly in Favor of Strike Authorization
  • 2 months ago
Unionized flight attendants at Alaska Airlines voted to authorize a potential strike for the first time in over 30 years. Over 93% of Alaska Air flight attendants represented by the Association of Flight Attendants union participated in the vote, with 99.48% voting in favor of strike authorization. The vote comes amid ongoing contract negotiations between the union and Alaska Airlines over issues like pay and benefits. Flight attendants at several other major airlines are also negotiating new contracts and demanding higher pay after not receiving raises in some cases for 5 years.
