Ashok Chavan To Join BJP Day After Resigning From The Congress Party

In a huge setback for the Congress party, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan resigned on February 12. This comes as a big blow to the grand old party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Chavan will be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said, “Today it's a new beginning of my political career. I am formally joining the BJP in their office today...I am hopeful that we will work for the constructive development of Maharashtra.” On February 12, Chavan submitted his resignation to Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole. Chavan is the third big name to resign from the Congress party after former South Mumbai MP Milind Deora and former MLA Baba Siddique left. Watch the video to know more.
