Police investigate an alleged sexual assault at Birmingham mental health facility

Police are investigating a report of a young woman's sexual assault at Hallam Street Hospital, a mental health unit in West Bromwich on January 22. West Midlands Police say that despite speaking to the woman regarding the alleged assault she declined to comment and they have no lines of inquiry.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a warning about the alarming surge in measles cases, particularly in Birmingham . Recent figures reveal that out of 465 reported cases across England between October and February, 329 cases (71%) were concentrated in this region.

A school received a surprise parcel when a book given to a pupil 120 years ago was returned to the library. Father Tuck’s "Book of Animal Life" was last recorded at Brookfields Primary School in Birmingham in 1904. The sticker inside indicated it was given to Florence Taylor for her good behavior. Over a century later, the book was found at a charity jumble sale by Cindie Raven in Dorset.
