Birmingham's political leaders have urged the government to continue a "vital lifeline" for the city's most vulnerable residents. City Council leaders have written to the chancellor ahead of the Spring Statement to request that the Household Support Fund is continued into the next financial year.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in Birmingham this week. The weather warning is in place in much of northern England as well as Birmingham and the West Midlands for Thursday and Friday.

Birmingham has welcomed its first ever two star Michelin restaurant at a prestigious ceremony. Opheem was honoured at the Michelin Guide Ceremony in Manchester. It received its first Michelin star in 2019.
