00:00 Again, House Speaker Martin Romualdez was stopped by the camera.
00:04 This is also in violation of the resolution that gives support to the leader of the lower-ranking.
00:09 The Senate also has an answer here.
00:12 Mel Alasmora is in the center of the news.
00:15 The ayes have it.
00:19 House Resolution 1562 is therefore adopted.
00:25 Congressmen unanimously expressed their support for House Speaker Martin Romualdez
00:31 despite the accusations that some senators are throwing at him because of the issue of the charter change.
00:37 That is under House Resolution 1562, which is officially the strengthening of the lower ranks.
00:44 In the sponsorship speech of House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Dom Gonzales Jr.,
00:49 he expressed his respect despite the different views of the House and Senate.
00:55 Gonzales was saddened by the relationship between the two prisons because of the issue of the charter change.
01:02 Recent events have cast a dark shadow over the decorum and mutual respect
01:09 that should define the relationship between our co-equal legislative bodies.
01:17 The unfounded allegations hardened by some members of the Senate on the issues surrounding the people's initiative
01:28 are direct violations of inter-parliamentary courtesy and undermine the independence and integrity of the House of Representatives.
01:41 House Senior Deputy Speaker also insisted that the signature campaign for the people's initiative is not a joke.
01:48 But he called on the Senate to pass their version of Resolution of Both Houses No. 6
01:54 to pass the amendment to the economic provisions of the Constitution.
01:59 This initiative, in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s agenda,
02:07 was conducted with the utmost legal and procedural integrity.
02:13 We have no involvement in the signature drive to amend the Constitution,
02:19 and it was, in fact, initiated by a private organization.
02:25 We, however, respect the people's initiative as it clearly manifests the essence of our country's democratic process.
02:36 Other members of the House of Representatives who are members of various major parties in the country
02:42 also expressed their strong support for the leadership of the House and the integrity of their institution.
02:48 Today, as the leader of the National Unity Party, I address this August body to voice our steadfast support
02:59 for the resolution that stands as a bulwark against the recent actions of the Senate
03:07 against its co-equal legislative chamber in our country.
03:12 Today, I stand before you as a proud leader of the Nacionalista Party,
03:17 compelled by our enduring commitment to democracy,
03:21 to voice our unflinching support for the resolution presented in the House of Representatives.
03:27 The House resolution was also immediately presented to the Senate.
03:31 Mr. President, if a leader is embattled or beleaguered in the case of the House of Representatives,
03:42 it is but normal for the members of the House to express their unwavering support.
03:50 And if our Senate President here in the Senate is also beleaguered and embattled,
03:58 we, the members of the Senate, will also express our full support to the leadership of our Senate President.
04:05 That's normal.
04:06 For the good of the country, we will accept tomorrow to discuss with the House of Representatives
04:12 to stop this nonsense.
04:15 Melales Moras for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
