Drone footage shows a grass fire spreading along cliffs.
Crews from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service battled the blaze at Marsden Cliffs, South Shields, yesterday afternoon (3).
An onlooker said locals thought it has been started by a dropped cigarette, but because the grass was wet, they feared the fire had been started intentionally.
