ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಲವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶ ಒಡೆಯುವ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಬರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದಿಂದ ಕನ್ಯಾಕುಮಾರಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಭಾರತ ಒಂದಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಬಯಸುತ್ತದೆ. ದೇಶ ವಿಭಜಿಸುವ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಡಿ.ಕೆ. ಸುರೇಶ್‌ ಅಂತಹ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇ ಆದಲ್ಲಿ, ಆ ಕುರಿತು ಹಕ್ಕುಬಾಧ್ಯತಾ ಸಮಿತಿಯಿಂದ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಿ’ ಎಂದು ಸವಾಲು ಹಾಕಿದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ ಖರ್ಗೆ

Many people in the Congress party have sacrificed their lives for the country. In such a party, the idea of dividing the country is not possible. Congress wants India to be united from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The country cannot tolerate divisive statements. If D.K. Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge challenged that if Suresh had made such a statement, then the rights and obligations committee should investigate it.
