Get your rune recipe, choose your avatar, and race to find the Essence of Eternity, the secret to eternal life. Journey through the forest wilderness and delve into the mines before risking the perils of the underworld realm. Battle fearsome monsters and cast powerful spells. But beware! Your opponents have powers and control monsters of their own. Are you cunning enough to outwit them? Immortality is within your grasp, but at what cost?

Essence of Eternity is a card game for 2-6 players that takes approximately 20 minutes per player. It can play as a quick 2 player game, especially between 2 players who know how to play, but it also scales up to 6 players.

The object of the game is to be the first to complete your unique Rune recipe to fulfill the Essence of Eternity, and unlock the power of immortality, winning the game. Each player chooses an Avatar with powerful magical abilities enabling individual strategies. These competing mages explore the realms of forest, mines and underworld, collecting magical Runes and combating fearsome Monsters along the way. Runes may be used while casting Spells or saved to complete a player's unique, hidden Rune recipe. Achieving the right balance of how to use your cards, and when to interfere, is the key to victory.

The quest for immortality is not for ordinary souls. You begin by choosing a powerful Avatar to control, each with their own special abilities that can affect the flow of the game.

The stars notated above designate how easy or difficult a character is to play. Cordoban and Herman, each with 1 star, are relatively easy to play while Izel, with 3 stars, requires more skill and may be better for more experienced players. The symbols at the bottom show that character's affinity.

Each Avatar has 2-3 special abilities. Cordoban triggers extra bonuses from Spell and Ability Checks, and may cast Spells at a reduced cost. Elysia wields the ability to return Monsters to her hand or draw them from the Graveyard. Herman has luck on his side, so instead of drawing one Fate Card, he draws two and chooses which one to keep. Each mix of Avatars will result in a different game experience.
