Southwest Airlines Drops Boeing 737 Max 7 from 2024 Plans Amid Certification Delays
  • 3 months ago
Southwest Airlines has removed the Boeing 737 Max 7 from its capacity plans for 2024, as the model has not yet received certification from the FAA. Southwest cited "Boeing's continued supply chain challenges and the current status of the -7 certification". This comes after United Airlines also removed the larger Max 10 from internal plans due to certification delays. FAA Administrator Whitaker said the agency has taken a "hands-on approach" to certifying the Max 7 and Max 10 with no timelines set. Scrutiny on Boeing has increased following an in-flight door panel issue on an Alaska Airlines Max 9.
