00:00 I'd be remiss if I did not congratulate you on the massive success of Saltwater.
00:05 Everybody is talking about this film. I love seeing the smile on your face.
00:09 And of course now you know you're being pegged as this sex symbol.
00:13 What do you make of all that?
00:14 What do you make of all that attention?
00:16 Yeah, it's definitely new.
00:20 I was honest with him. I understood him.
00:23 I loved him. I loved him.
00:28 I loved him.
00:30 But was I in love with him?
00:35 I've not been in this position before.
00:37 But it's nice to kind of go from that to this and you know, to show that range as well.
00:42 And you know, the reaction has just been like, just unreal.
00:47 And it's done wonders. It really has.
00:49 And but again, they're the kind of movies I want to be a part of.
00:54 And the ones that stick around, you ask questions about.
00:56 And you know, definitely Leave a Print.
00:58 Yes, it has left a mark.
01:00 I mean, have you seen the Jacob Elordi bathwater candle?
01:03 Have you seen that?
01:04 I have a few of them.
01:05 You have? Okay.
01:05 I hand them out as gifts.
01:06 Stop it. You're handing them out as gifts?
01:09 No, I don't. I don't.
01:10 It's a... No, it's crazy.
01:13 But yeah, I would still get a massive, you know, internet.
01:18 You set the range. I mean, truly.
01:21 Congratulations. My God, what a performance.
01:23 What do you make of this, guys?
01:24 This sex symbol now?
01:26 I mean, Barry's awesome, man.
01:27 Barry says Barry is.
01:28 He's a great lad.
01:29 But also, I just like, I mean, I'm a big fan of Saltman and all the work that you do.
01:33 So it's been a pleasure to work alongside him.
01:36 And now you've acted with two actors, Austin and Jacob, who have played Elvis.
01:40 Are you next? Are you in?
01:41 We saw those dance moves.
01:42 I ain't no Elvis. Let me tell you, I can't step up after those two.
01:46 But yeah, that is a coincidence.
01:49 All that we do.
01:51 Day in, day out.
01:55 That's something to a guy, doesn't it?
01:56 You're here to fight the monsters.
01:59 The things these people are capable of.
02:01 They got it coming.
02:03 Trust me.
02:05 Congrats to you guys on this series.
02:08 I love this duo, but I love this whole brotherhood with the cast.
02:12 You guys are both nodding your heads.
02:14 How much did it feel kind of like a fraternity with that brotherhood on set?
02:18 There's a lot of guys stacked in this cast.
02:20 100%.
02:21 But we don't get the fraternity thing at home, do we?
02:24 Yeah, I guess.
02:25 I mean, like what you said a few times is very true, that it almost felt like summer camp at times.
02:30 Like kind of getting all the guys together and getting the uniforms
02:33 and being around the different sets and locations and being in character.
02:38 From an early day, everyone bonded super.
02:41 Yeah, it was, you know, and I touched on yesterday,
02:43 it's also a nice opportunity to see what new actors and younger actors are bringing to the table.
02:50 And I'm always inquisitive and curious to see why they made certain choices
02:54 and different styles, you know, clashing and combining.
02:59 And, you know, it's a big learning process.
03:02 Obviously, you get to learn from each other.
03:04 Yeah.
03:04 And it was really beautiful to see, like, obviously, such a big cast
03:08 and some like really, really big established names.
03:10 And like Barry said, people coming like fresh out of theatre school
03:15 or like one of their kind of early jobs.
03:18 Like for me, it was the biggest experience and best opportunity I've ever really had.
03:23 It can kind of go the other way when you've got a group of lads like that together.
03:26 And, you know, it's a recipe for disaster as well.
03:29 But you can kind of, you know, people can have a, you know, a guard up
03:33 and not want to show, you know, vulnerability.
03:36 And, you know, you want to kind of protect yourself.
03:38 But I felt like this was very, it was like there was a license to go for it, you know what I mean?
03:44 And really, you know, drive that emotional story forward.
03:47 Yeah, it was.
03:49 And also...
03:49 We have the support from each other.
03:50 Definitely.
03:51 I think coming out of COVID as well, like kind of being very fresh in the pandemic,
03:55 for us all to be working on set and just that kind of eagerness to get back to work.
03:59 And then also the fact that it was a Spielberg and a Hanks.
04:03 Oh my gosh.
04:04 Everything attached, it's just like that excitement and that like,
04:07 everyone was just ready to kind of give it their all.
04:10 With it being that brotherhood, what kind of trouble did y'all get into?
04:14 The antics, their lips were sealed and I'm not buying it.
04:18 You even have a little smile on your face.
04:20 Did y'all get into any type of trouble, any pranks against each other, any fun,
04:24 like any on-set moments?
04:26 You know, we had, there was that kind of militant, you know,
04:31 there was that energy there.
04:34 And people were pretty well behaved.
04:36 You know, you got Captain Dale Dyer there who, you know,
04:39 if you wear your hat the wrong way, I mean, you're being told off.
04:42 Press ups.
04:43 Kind of from day one.
04:44 I remember I cracked a joke to him, I said something and he just didn't laugh.
04:48 And I was like...
04:49 You're like, all right, that's enough.
04:51 Yeah, I'll fix my hat.
04:52 Sorry.
04:52 Everyone was on their best behavior.
04:54 Yeah, you had to be.
04:55 And it was, you know what, it worked for it.
04:57 But we had our moments where we were playing card games.
05:01 Playing games.
05:02 There was a good amount of banter on set as well.
05:04 And I think there was definitely like a balance between having a laugh
05:07 and getting on as mates and lads,
05:10 but also being professional and also the story.
05:13 And we're in that kind of Army, Air Force mentality as well.
05:17 So you kind of got to keep that within you at times as well.
05:20 But there was definitely weeks where we had a bit of time off filming
05:25 and we spent time together, go to the pub with the boys
05:27 and had some fun times in Oxford as well.
05:30 - Yeah, there was some fun times. - So there was definitely like...
05:31 - We definitely had some fun. - You saw the roaster there.
05:34 Did you teach Austin how to box as well?
05:36 I did, yeah.
05:37 He couldn't box for anything, you know what I mean?
05:40 Now we got to get him in the ring, huh?
05:42 Now he could.
05:43 He was actually pretty good, Austin.
05:44 But in and out takes, we'd be boxing around the trailers
05:48 and, you know, it was just always proper brotherhood.
05:51 It was absolutely lovely.
05:54 Do you know what I mean?
05:55 Yeah, it was just gorgeous.
05:56 It was, yeah.
05:57 And I think from the boot camp and just like the feeling on set,
06:01 even if someone was in for one day
06:02 or you didn't see someone for a couple of months,
06:04 like even the other day at the premiere,
06:06 seeing some of the guys who I haven't seen in a couple of years,
06:08 straight away, it's like yesterday, you know?
06:11 Everyone was really happy to see each other.
06:12 Everyone's gotten taller as well.
06:14 I've just remained small.
06:16 I'm just like, wow, these are all getting really tall.
06:18 I bet you stopped growing at 18.
06:20 Is that not a thing?
06:21 Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
06:23 through the great spaces of the sky.
06:25 What about the cockpit competitions?
06:27 Who could get in the cockpit the fastest?
06:30 Austin allegedly won by three seconds.
06:32 Were you guys a part of this?
06:33 I told you that.
06:33 Okay, okay, okay.
06:34 Did Austin tell you that?
06:35 Yes, yes.
06:37 It'd be impressive if someone else told you that,
06:39 but when it comes from him, it's like...
06:41 It was all said, it was 0.8 seconds,
06:43 but then Callum said it was three seconds,
06:44 and then Austin was just like, I'm going to take the win.
06:46 So this is getting from what, the hard stand into the cockpit?
06:50 Yes, with everything on.
06:51 0.8 seconds is pretty fast.
06:52 No, no, no, like he won.
06:54 Oh, 5.8.
06:55 I was going to say...
06:56 Oh yeah, that's the fastest.
06:57 He won by eight seconds.
06:58 We're not teleporting here.
06:59 Wait, that's even more impressive, winning by eight seconds.
07:02 Yeah.
07:02 Were you a part of these competitions,
07:04 or was it just Austin and Callum in that moment?
07:06 No, I let them all do that.
07:07 Okay.
07:07 Because you already cracked a joke and got in trouble,
07:10 and you said I'm going to stay out of the competition.
07:12 I was like, Captain Dale, look, they're playing games.
07:14 I'm not.
07:15 Do you know what I mean?
07:16 Start telling on everybody.
