Discovering Wildlife in Baram, Borneo

So, for the study, we are using the line transect distance sampling technique to estimate the abundance and densities, of animals in the, Baram region. So we have three clusters of villages. In each cluster, our field technicians walk four transects per month, and each of those transect is four km long. They walk each transect twice per month. So altogether, we are covering 96 forests every month, which is quite an achievement on this difficult terrain. Our field technicians look for visual sightings for terrestrial mammals, birds and reptiles.
