a distress signal from a research vessel is received on Earth. The United States Space Force then sends a rescue ship to Pandora, a moon of Saturn. But when the rescuers try to land, they discover that Pandora is already inhabited by a highly evolved humanoid species, which will not abandon its Earth prisoners without a fight.
