Thousands of drivers were caught out in the first 24 hours of new traffic cameras going live in Liverpool city centre. New local authority data has revealed how many drivers fell foul of the new cameras in the first weeks of the rollout. The specialist devices have been placed at Lime Street's junction with London Road and Ranelagh Street at Brownlow Hill.

2024 is already shaping up to top last year's success at Liverpool ONE, with a 10% increase in visitor numbers during the first week of January versus last year, representing the best start to a year in more than five years. This follows the retail and leisure destination recording its busiest ever Christmas in 2023.

An animal rescue centre has found new families for four XL Bully type dogs. Freshfields had appealed to rehome Aura, Dexter, Sonny and Moose following the announcement of the new legislation banning the breed. The centre says they are settling into their new lives as beloved family pets.
