SAP Agrees to $220 Million Settlement in Bribery Charges with US Authorities
  • 4 months ago
Global software company SAP agreed to pay more than $220 million to settle bribery charges with US authorities. The charges involve bribery schemes from 2014-2022 where SAP routed money and gifts through consultants to help win business in countries like South Africa and Indonesia. SAP failed to properly oversee high-risk regions and inaccurately recorded bribes as legitimate expenses. The $220 million settlement includes a $118.8 million criminal fine between the DOJ and SEC.
