Tottenham Hotspur: Old Trafford trip next up
Transcript
00:00 Moving to league football, Spurs take on Manchester United this weekend.
00:06 Man United are a team who this season have been very up and down.
00:09 I think a lot of their wins have perhaps been a bit fortuitous.
00:12 Given Spurs' attacking nature as a team, there's a chance they could blow them away.
00:18 Yes, I think it's a really good opportunity.
00:21 Up until a couple of seasons ago, we had a dreadful record at Old Trafford,
00:25 but actually we've been there a couple of times and won in recent seasons.
00:28 I've been lucky enough to be in the crowd for a couple of really good victories there.
00:32 You never quite know what you're going to get with Manchester United.
00:35 You can't deny they're a team of talented individuals, but they don't necessarily play as a team.
00:41 I'm not really sure of the system. They're obviously beset by quite a lot of injuries as well.
00:46 So I think it's a real opportunity for Spurs, provided Dragosin comes in and gets done before the deadline,
00:53 because Ben Davies pulled up with a hamstring problem at the end of the FA Cup game last week.
00:57 So whether van der Ven fits as well, that's going to be interesting.
01:00 Spurs are obviously carrying lots of injuries at the moment, but it gives us a real opportunity.
01:06 It'll be interesting to see how we approach the game, really, in terms of the front line.
01:10 Will Werner come straight in? Will he be used off the bench?
01:13 I think he's been carrying an obductory injury this season.
01:16 Only made two starts for Leipzig, a couple of goals as well, I think.
01:19 But his fitness might mean he has to wait for his chance off the bench.
01:23 But maybe Richarlison will be looking over his shoulder, despite his really good form.
01:27 Five goals in six games, he looked very out of sorts in the Cup game at Burnley.
01:32 So maybe, you know, I'm just throwing people in from the off,
01:35 he threw van der Ven in straight away for his debut at Brentford.
01:38 So he's certainly not afraid to give players the head and just let them loose.
01:42 So it'll be really interesting to see how we shape up.
01:45 We will take the game to Manchester United.
01:47 We'll play with that high line, we'll be aggressive.
01:51 And it'll be interesting to see.
01:53 I mean, you'd like to think you're pretty confident, but as I say,
01:56 Manchester United do have quality, they can turn it on, but they have been very, very hit and miss.
02:00 And, you know, we beat them at the Tottenham Oxford Stadium early in the season.
02:04 They actually played pretty well that day.
02:06 That's probably one of their best performances, but we managed to come on strong in the second half.
02:10 So I'm really excited for the game on Sunday.
02:13 And, you know, fingers crossed we've got a good chance of going there and getting a result.
