Hewlett Packard Enterprise to Acquire Juniper Networks in $14 Billion Cash Deal

Hewlett Packard Enterprise agreed to buy networking gear vendor Juniper Networks for about $14 billion in cash, the companies said Tuesday. At $40 a share, the price amounts to a premium of 32% over Juniper's closing price on Monday, before the WSJ story. Juniper shares had their best day in 20 years on Tuesday following the Wall Street Journal's report late Monday on a likely deal. The acquisition would double HPE's existing networking business after years of competition.
