Intel has appointed Justin Hotard as the new executive vice president and general manager of its data center and AI group. Hotard was previously responsible for Hewlett Packard Enterprise's high-performance computing, AI and labs businesses. He will take over the role from Intel veteran Sandra Rivera, who will now head the programmable solutions business. The data center unit is crucial to Intel's turnaround plans under CEO Pat Gelsinger as it aims to regain chip industry leadership.
