Lancashire's police and crime commissioner with an update and plea for the public to fill out the police budget survey
Transcript
00:00 Hi, I'm Andrew Snowden, Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner and in this video I
00:05 want to make a plea with you to fill out our survey about the police budget. Setting the
00:12 police budget is a key part of the role of Police and Crime Commissioner and I often
00:16 say I am the public's voice in policing and therefore I need to make sure that I use that
00:22 voice to make sure that we give the right areas of investment to the police to increase
00:27 that visible police presence in our communities that I know we all want to see, to be able
00:32 to take the fight to criminals and to protect people. And therefore it's really important
00:38 that I hear your voice and your views on the police budget and how you see the police service,
00:43 whether you agree with the priorities that I have set, whether you agree with the areas
00:48 I'm considering investing in. I want to know what your views are. So thank you to the around
00:55 2,000 people who have already filled out the survey. This is your opportunity to shape
01:00 the budget for the policing service for next year and to make sure that myself, as your
01:06 voice in policing, can best represent your interests and views in the coming year.
